Free Trial Etiquette...

Alright dudes/dudettes… We all want this game to be successful and supported for years to come, and the only way that’s gonna be the case is if we get new blood flowing. Lot’s of it.

Pretty much all of us know whats going to happen to the noobs when they start queuing up this weekend. Given the current attitude of the community as portrayed on these forums and prevalence of in-game toxicity, it’s not going to be pretty…

That said, I suggest that we all make an effort to exercise an increased level of restraint when it comes to interacting with the new players… Try to keep the shit talking to a reasonable level (YOU KNOW WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE!), perhaps even try to be nice/patient with the new players.

This is a rare opportunity to boost the game’s popularity and we shouldn’t squander it. We don’t have any control over weather or not the devs will introduce more game breaking bugs or make bad decisions as far as game mechanics, but as players we can try to minimize any harm we inflict on the community as a whole.

Mine too. It’s an awesome idea. I would also love this game to last, and this trial is a really good way of boosting the numbers. Illfonic must be pretty confident in the 2.0 patch coming on Friday to start a trial, so that can only be a good thing.

Just an add on and maybe to help with new players to get them interested is post on social media to try the game and add you so they can play and learn more about the game

In regards to what? If we are playing on Ft thats fine ill show them the ropes and will be making community parties welcoming the new players.

If I quee up as the Pred and get a lobby of Noobs they catching the smoke no way they getting a special treatment.

If a noob quee up as the pred will still catch the smoke. I expect alot of masks will be shot off this weekend.

Will refrain from teabags and shit talking this weekend for sure. But will not show mercy to players that will not show it to us.

I shall respond to this the same way i responded to a similar post on reddit

“SEE as a Pred Main i will have no mercy upon the newbies, i will stalk them, toy with them, i will talk creepy predator shit through my mic, but in the end there will be no mercy their skulls will be polished and hung, and i will feast upon their bones. They will be welcomed to the jungle properly.”

Side note the forum members do not i repeat do NOT make up the majority of the player base i can promise you that, they will have a great experience playing the trial perhaps the devs could mark the players in the trial with like an asterisk by their username so we can immediately know to put on our best manners.

Is disappointing that the Free Trial only applies to PS4 players?

PC players generally LOVE free trial stuff, and I feel they’ve cut out a large potential player base from this opportunity.

Either way, I agree with the sentiment of the OP.

We should always be nice to new players where we can.

I don’t understand this whole obsession people have with calling all the people on here toxic, or those who play the game.

The majority of the time i run into cool ppl. Its rare when I run into assholes in this game.
I’d honestly say theres more assholes on this forum then in game.

I always try to say ggs after I Slaughter them or they put me down like the sack of shit I am. But once they let the toxicity flow all bets are off and the Rematch will be called for and then the true games begin

Considering the predator ques, predators should seriously consider letting them have fun. Like keep the game going up to the chopper escape. Don’t use frustrating tactics (like arrows or insta-down with melee).
