Friday the 13th no longer owned by Illfonic?

Hey all! I was just browsing the PlayStation store and Friday the 13th came up. However I was perplexed on it saying it was owned by “Gun Media Holdings Incorporated”. Did Illfonic sell it or did I miss something? Are they both the same company?

It’s a Holding company.
Can mean so many things. Such as Illfonic bankrupted and the Holding company kept the shares and the rights over Illfonic’s properties.

You guys could simply do a google search. Gun was the publisher, illfonic was the dev team. When there was no more content to be added, illfonic moved on and turned Dev duties over to Black Tower.

Gun is currently working on TCSM with a new Dev team.

I think the moment Illfonic stepped away from the title was when a person from another company (not this one, ai think, or is part of it…dunno) popped up with a Twitter account and you were somehow suppose to post on Twitter, on a subsection or a reply section, any related bug or issue for them to fix.

Don’t know how much it worked since I did not keep track with their activity since I left that toxic game behind and only went into it on rare occasion with groups or parties for us to play (2 years ago…?).

I think it revolved on something being wrong with the franchise and holding. Or something like that, probably rendering Illfonic to give the rights…if not product to another company in the legal battle it took place probably. They probably received a compensation for the work or who knows if Illfonic settled for anything at all.

That obviously was an outcome for the game being poorly maintained and developed and coming out buggy (maybe is a tradition for illfonic, but there are signs of it having a better outcome by every title they make, each successor looks better than the previous).

I don’t know for sure how it came to be as I did not follow too much the events, maybe someone on the forum here know more detail.

IllFonic was contracted to work on the game by Gun Media a few years ago. We’re no longer involved and any further questions should be directed at Gun Media themselves.

Well , they clocked in…at least.

Ahhh ok. Interesting. I had no idea that Illfonic was no longer associated with the F13 game. I know there was a lot of drama that came along with the project. Shame it all ended up how it did.

Thanks for the reply. 👍🏻
