I don’t know how you all feel about it … but more and more kiddos are playing a FSK18 Game on PS4.
Don’t know what the parents are thinking? But if I would be a parent I wouldn’t get my kid a game that’s for adults. I maybe maybe would let them watch me play the game.
And if they are maybe 16 it can be debatable to let them play it. But not when they are 8-10 (guessing by the voices).
And if you let them play. Why not get them a decent mic with the game. I nearly get always a God damn eardrum rupture by them eating their mic’s or screaming like hell. I mute those immediately.
FSK18 Game Vs 8-10 year old Kids, also them having potatoes for mics
I mean every one is different. I watched the original movie (and far…far worse) when I was maybe 5 or 6. I was raised pretty anti censorship and a lot of my friends and other family members were not. Up to the parents really and it’s hardly the worst decision a parent can make.
Side note I did almost quit a match yesterday after hitting two arrows and hearing some kid on the mic go “Hey who’s shooting fireballs at me”. I couldn’t stop laughing
I think it’s up to the parent to decide what their kids should be allowed to play but personally I think if kids are gonna play online games they should not play with a mic for everyone’s sake. Including their own.
I let my kids play whatever game really, because they know its a game and not real and that was the first thing they had to agree to understand before i let them play it. My daughter has been playing Rainbow 6 siege since she was about 5-6. now shes 8 and i let her use a mic and see it as learning. if you are sheltered from something then you never learn about it.
I want her to learn what creeps are, how to spot them and deal with them, how to find real friends , i want her to learn the online world for her own safety when shes old enough to decide to go meet some guy atlease shes had those years of experience to draw on. I think sheltering is the worst thing, education it much more important.
Why do ppl think kids are so innocent?
A mere game wont currupt them.
This is true
But when they are screaming in my fucking ear I can get a little upset.
On the one hand, yeah, I do wonder about the psychological impact on young kids playing games like this, on the other hand, some of the most entertaining games I’ve played have been with kids like this:
As a side note, just about all the kids I’ve encountered have been good sports or funnily competitive over the mic. It only seems to be certain ‘adults’ that behave like spoilt obnoxious brats.
That was neat
I can see that, however when kids get on the mic depending on what game they’re playing they’ll either piss off everyone in the lobby or get harassed for just being a kid. Would it toughen them up sure but then it’ll be up to the parent to make sure their shit talk game is good otherwise you’ll get “I fucked your mom” repeated 5 times over and nobody wants that.
Yes.
That’s annoying as shit.
Kids typically are which is why most ppl avoid them.
Kids be like:
“HELLOOOOO?!?!?!” hot mic and all.
Smdh
So, I’m 16, and I’d really have to say it goes case by case, as each individual kid will have different maturity levels.
I play this game regularly, and I have been given permission to use a mic under the condition that I do not curse/trash talk/insult other players, and I feel that that is a fair condition. I remain respectful to other players, win or lose, because I wouldn’t want people to mock/insult me either. The same condition applies to my younger brother (13), but he does not have an interest in horror and more often plays ARK or R6.
I’ve been a horror fan since I was about 10, where I started out reading horror novels (Stephen King is great!), and I was introduced to Predator around 12 by my father (also a big sci-fi horror buff).
So, I’d say it depends on the maturity level of the kid, and that can greatly vary, so it’s ultimately the parents choice.
There are good parents and bad parents out there. If a kid is allowed to play a game that is meant for a much higher age, then that kid has bad parents. There is a reason why game companies add such information about the game, and if any parent still claims they are doing the right thing by letting their kids play those games, then the parents are very ignorant and arrogant.
I know many parents let their kids play far worse games than PHG, such as GTA5, where kids may start believing it is ok to rape girls as an example. Kids don’t think the same way as adults does, so don’t treat them as adults.
It’s GTA that kinda bothers me. Don’t get that for your kids. Certainly not for around 14 or under. Some are more mature than others but it’s full of young children. Ruins it for the older gamers.
I once saw a kid at a karate class, about 6 years old, leg sweep another kid and jokingly squat over his head saying he was teabagging him. It was hilarious but also crazy. He’d seen someone doing it in COD or battlefield.
All good arguments, which I appreciate and can understand. Everybody is different mentally. Some are far more adult than what their actual age is.
But as off all that. Parents need to teach the kiddies how to use a mic or don’t let them use a mic at all. I had some many with very oversensitive mics where I heard stuff from their background. Like a much younger sibling screaming his lungs out, or arguments with the parent’s, screaming in general and TV shows that I don’t need to hear. I like playing with them because of the “overreaction” the kiddies have. 🤣
Though what I don’t need is to get my hearing damaged. There are many decent headsets with mics for low prices that would make the experience with them a little more durable.
total bollocks. Its been debunked by studies over and over again. violent movies and games dont make people violent.

I can find you more of them. Can you show your evidence for your argument?
Sorry bud but that’s horse shit, violent games, movies, books don’t make people violent.
This right here is the answer. I’ve seen 15
year olds that act with the maturity of grown adults and then grown adults that act with the maturity of 5 year olds on a mic.
It is entirely based on how the player chooses to act, and it’s biological that kids will act more irrationally/with less maturity, but there obviously are exceptions. Parents should be the ones that determine what the child does as far as these kinds of video games and mics, and it is their duty to make the right call.
Can confirm. Read horror since I was 10, have only wiped out the entire Jedi Order since.
yeah bad parenting leads to asshole kids with no boundaries and become asshole adults that commit violent crimes because they cant cope with not being center of attention and their privilage leads to lashing out… they were never diciplined or told no…
Doesnt matter if they watched itchy and scratchy on the simpsons or played predator hunting grounds.
