FT can be a Chore

Dunno a good title for this, so hope it’s not misleading. If it is, my b; this is just a small rant I wanted to get off my chest.

For the last few days I grinded as FT so I could hit 150 and get the Elder, but along the way, I realized, at least for me, that FT can be a chore to play. People do some weird shit if left to their own vices, such as rushing off to do the objective alone, die to the Pred, then rage at us for not being there, or detonate explosive barrels next to people for shits and giggles. A standout case being earlier, where I was trying to do the objective on Excavation; the rest of the team all sprinted off to the caves for some reason, and I got downed by the Pred. And then someone had the audacity to get mad at me for that. Pretty baffling. Was half tempted to get on the mic and tell him off, but it was late at night, and I’m not in the mood to spend an hour telling off a mook.

In short, I may just stick with Pred until my friends come back to the game. At least then the only person I need to rely on is me, and while I’m a shitter, at least it’s just me who’s a shitter.

Your team was plotting to lure the predator into the cave so he had a limited space to move in. You messed up by not sticking with them. They got mad because you didn’t stick with your team.

Yes, this is the biggest advantage the predator has, FT has to account for potato players, the predator does not. That is why decent to good predators should be winning the vast amount of games in randoms.

Sometimes playing the FT is an exercise in frustration. Had 3 games today. All ended on evac (so I guess I won) to see the new changes and the map. Anyway, in my last game had to fight the predator most of the game by myself, then at the end I second winded the pred and he downed me at the same time. My 2 alive team mates decided to bolt for the chopper instead of giving me a hand, let me to just die there.

Now if you play with 3 other good guys, the game becomes boring unless you do customs with a good predator since most predators don’t have the skill to fight a full PC premade of decent + players.

Congrats, you’ve figured out why predators win the majority of games and why it took Illfonic so long to re-balance the game to its current state. Predators were winning 2/3rds of their matches, but fireteam were not finding it a challenge and pred-mains were constantly crying on the forums. the current state predators are winning more than they were before but FT finally feels like it’s facing a challenge and predator players finally have their ego stroked enough to satisfy them despite them being low-skill babies

I’m a fire team main but even I know that the predator was underpowered against a good ft and the pred mains had every right to complain. Why insult them?

Oh yeah, sorry. You’re a very good player. Everybody loves you. Mommy will give you lots of hugs when you get home. The mean predators won’t be there, you can win a game or two.

What are you even talking about? I’m in no way complaining about predators at all. If anything I’d like to buff predators so I can get a challange for once.

I’m doing the same thing, and it’s very disheartening. I’ve actually just started doing clash and hoping that I get enough kills to get the Predator so that I can actually have some fun

Well this garnered more attention than I thought.

While this is a smart idea, could it have hurt to communicate it? A ping would have at least worked, as I was slashing the server room during this time. But, I’ll own up and admit I should’ve flicked my eyes up to the map a lot more. I blame that on being tired.

But, overall, my word stands. FT feels like something I’d have more fun with if it’s me and my friends, not with randos who forge these useful plans, but just…expect other randos to get them. Or randos who blast music through their headset. But, then again, mute fixes that easy.

Someone seems to forget how much ft mains uses to bitch in the early days and that’s why they got unneeded buffs that broke ft.

Pred mains weren’t crying they and anyone who be isny blind just wants shit to be balanced.
Even now with the new pred specializations it’s not really helping them as they’re still getting melted.

Or are you such a shitty player that you’re struggling vs preds now?
I supposed a ft main would be, you guys have always been trash and the worst part of this game.

Get fucked and get good.
Become a hybrid and then you might be worth a fuck.

id be happy with the following.

Make the Charged plasma do less direct damage, but larger splash radius and go faster. or more direct damage and less spash radius and slower travel time - A mod like fireteam weapons.

Uncharged shot mod is “faster plasma speed but less damage” or “more damage but less speed”. and again modify the splash radius with each.
