FT challenging grounds

Not bad. The Disc play was better than the last game you showed.

Still some questionable decision making & rookie errors though. You did the Target Iso scan too late at the start obviously, and you threw a Motion Detector next to a Reinforcement Radio spawn location without checking if it was actually there or not which really didn’t make any sense to me, and then later after the Reinforce you were directly above the Fireteam in the trees & you decided to throw a Motion Detector at the 3 of them instead of a Bear Trap, to which I can only really ask why?😅 You could already see them all out in the open, and if you trapped at least one of them it’s basically a free kill to finish off via using the Plasma Pistol. If you’re going to drop down like you did at one point & hit the one guy twice with wristblades, shoot him with the Plasma Pistol first & follow it up with 2 Wristblade slashes instead of just using the Wristblades. It will obviously deal more damage & if you hit them with one more Plasma Pistol shot after the initial combo they will be very low on health if they aren’t downed already. Whereas 2 wristblade slashes by itself is only going to do around 60 damage. Its all about maximising DPS.

As for the camping situation, don’t “wait” for the Fireteam to come out of their camping spot, flush them out of it by force instead with fully charged Plasma Caster shots. For all you know, they could’ve been sitting on the mission objective & rushing it while you’re just standing around waiting.

Overall, not too bad though. The trap plays were decent, I’d just say to get a better idea of the distance you can throw Traps because at one point you looked like you were almost trying to throw it like a literal frisbee when you were on top of the cliff near the Rein. Keep working on the Smart Disc multihits & be a bit smarter with your angles when using it, don’t make your job unnecessarily harder by throwing the Disc downwards vertically. Try to get on more even ground before throwing it at a target or at least an angle where you’ll be able to pilot it for a hit in the middle of their body as opposed to trying to hit the top of their head. You’ll have a much harder time getting multiple hits from a single throw if you’re throwing it downwards vertically. I’d also say to practice your quick-scoping with the Plasma Pistol & use it more often, aswell as practicing the combos between Plasma Pistol shots into Wristblade slashes.

the rookie mistakes are probably just me thinking “i know how these guys play now, im definitely going to beat them” and deciding to troll a little bit. part of the problem is that i can never play against fireteams that are actually good in private matches and stuff

This disc is amazing! Honestly, it’s my first time using it, and I’m really impressed. The games are monotonous and make me sleepy. I’ll go to bed in a bit.

I really enjoyed the disc play, not gonna lie. Like, almost everything was a far better improvement from previous videos you posted. Voorhees pretty much summed everything up, like watch your trap placements and use them a bit more smartly, and when FT camps like that, and you know you have a decently low risk if you rush, do it. I understand you don’t want to be trapped and bodyblocked with no exit, and that is the smart play, but in this example you had only two and they were obvious potatoes. Yes one of them had a minigun but you can have several ways to out play it, either hit and run in and out of the building, or draw his fire so he wastes ammo and can’t use it. Either way, dropping down and being aggressive with the bow or pistol would have netted you the win much sooner.

I think you’re doing very well with the pistol, watching these videos and your livestreams has shown me that. Same with the disc and combi, I think you’re becoming quite the potato peeler. I mean…save for that one match yesterday that literally gave me anxiety because I couldn’t figure out what you were doing for the life of me…you should post that one, I think we need to see that.

the match with me as wolf against that dutch? yeah that had me on the edge of my seat too, haha. i was trying to be fair and use wrist blades only but i gave up after he second winded me with like 3 hits (obviously using bane and heavy hitter and with reckless + knife counts as hip fire it just keeps stacking). i was aiming to plasma pistol him to death but time ran out. that match was very confusing and scary, especially since it was on the 2nd shittiest map in the game. i wish there was an option to only play derailed and overgrowth

that wolf build is kind of a goof-off build that i use when i dont really feel like tryharding. if i had a combistick i would have killed everyone (eventually). ill try and post the match if i get a chance

I was saying if they are camping in a room like that to just do fully charged Plasma Caster shots repeatedly until either they die or they leave the room. Obviously if they are potatoes it doesn’t particularly matter too much but I don’t believe in training complacency.

Never try to knife fight a Dutch '87. Especially not with Wristblades. In fact, I don’t recommend knife fighting anyone in general.

right…😂

but hey he was the last guy standing so i thought “why not” but evidently i should have spammed plasma the first time he hit me

Yes. Channel your inner Mr Black & Plasma spam the fuck out of anyone who tries to knife fight you.

Well, you boo-boo’d in a few different ways; you tried to knife fight that Dutch 87, AND Isabelle. Both have the highest melee damage output in the game, that 87 especially because of his stacks. You kept trying to 1v1 one him at the end and each time he would outdamage you in less than a minute and you had to retreat to eat a pig. After the first second wind from his knife you should have realized a 1v1 would not work in your favor and plasma’d him. The fact that he baited you into it over comms shows you gotta focus on the win. Also, ditch that shield, boy. It doesn’t protect you against knife hits, as you learned.

And I get playing a casual build, I’ve had a few, but there are ways to play a meta build without tryharding. My Wolf is bow/combi, I’m ready to sweat against nasty teams. But also I’m able to lay it back on potatoes or little kids and toy with them if need be. Its all about assessing them at the start and adjusting your playstyle accordingly. I knew they would be at a low skill level during prematch when they were trash talking you, but the knife rushing told me they had specific builds meant to do a specific action, and the counter would have be ranged offense. Thankfully you did have the pistol, but that should have been utilized more than wristblades.

You could do this too, depending on the angle. I don’t drop shots from outside much anymore due to the splash damage reduction, but if I can get an angle to where I can shoot inside, yeah I’ll spam it up until they do something. Sometimes you have to run in and risk it for the biscuit if you can’t get good shots on them.

It obviously depends on the situation.

That’s where positioning also comes into play. If you don’t have a good angle, create a better angle for yourself.

i go full tryhard on them. no reinforcements, everyone’s dead at 13:30 match time, at the latest

Aww that’s no fun. You gotta torture them for awhile. Their screams and tears are a delicacy. Its a bit more fun when its a little kid playing Predator, though…something special about following their screams into the jungle, shooting and spotting through the cries of “HOW CAN YOU SEE ME YOURE HACKING” until the eventual Second Wind where they start to sniffle and eventually quit without self destruct.

Exactly. Which is kind of the beauty of Predator, you can leap up to and around pretty much anywhere to gain a position, whereas FT is fairly limited in comparison.

kids playing predator are the best. in the lobby they’re talking to their buddy like “im the predator im gonna win so fast” but in the end they’re literally crying “HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE I AM YOURE HACKING” when i find them healing on the floor, uncloaked.

i had this one time when the kids mom took his mic from him after the match and started telling me off “he’s just a kid you need to go easy on him look how upset you’ve made him.” it was great. all i needed to say was “this is a mature rated game, he shouldn’t be playing in the first place. youre just a bad parent” at which point they started yelling and i went back to the main menu

unfortunately this was before my youtube days and i never recorded it :(

I have made not 1, but 2 children cry in this game, playing as pred. HILARIOUS, would do it again
