This game can be great I just know it can. One way to make it better is to change how the matchmaking works. Illfonic should weight your preference like they did with ft13. This would be a nice update that I think everyone would enjoy
Ft or Predator Matchmaking preference needs to be taken out

The problem then would be you would get lots of people crying they are never the Predator which was an actual issue with F13 for a long time. You could go hours and not get to play Jason at all.
At least it fixes the matchmaking
I still play ft13 and I say the matchmaking is amazing and I get some matches with jason and others with counselors. Which is great

no it wouldnt. forcing people to play a character or thing they dont want too. people will just quit altogether. or stick solely too private matches.
I think like now is fine, waiting 5/7 minutes is not so long. Maybe they need to fix marchmaking to not allow people to be entered in a lobby without any other players. Playing without preference means that if you are unlucky you maybe play too much times the side you dislike.
You can chose no preference and it would be random

F13 has a tiny player base and a lot of the complaints about that game when it was released was that people simply could not play as Jason.
I honestly dont mind how it is now and the reason matchmaking is so bad is because there is clearly a bug with it as it was not nearly as bad before this patch. Lobbies are constantly bugged and noone can join them. That is the main issue with the game at the moment.

Because the matchmaking is currently bugged. If you go over 10-12 minutes its a bug any time i have gotten a match past that minute mark I have been placed in a bugged lobby noone can join or the matchmaking just keeps on going. Second I restart it Il get a match within 5 minutes. Matchmaking is just bugged at the moment.

Maybe I’m lucky , but I’m level 100 playning 70% pred 30% Fire team. And I find game in 30 sec/3 min fire team and 5/8 min predator (except sometimes I need more like 10 minutes). I think the matchmaking is improved compare to previous patch.

Why are people like that even here? Because the game was marketed as play the pred. Not try to survive him. Unlike Friday the 13. The main difference is the genre. I’m pretty sure even though ppl complained about not being Jason, the majority still dont mind too much playing counselors. Horror genre fans tend to love being useless and helpless.
So given that this game was presented like that, it would fuck over the people who bought this game to focus on being pred. It would literally then be a waste of money. The problem is ft is too damn boring because its generic. If they can make ft feel fun and cool without making them too strong then it would help with matchmaking.

I’ll take waiting five minutes for a guaranteed Predator match over playing matchmaking slot machine any day of the week. I just tab out and browse while I’m waiting anyway, you can tell when you get into a match by keeping half an eye on it through the transparent task bar.
