So im very new and maybe my experience feels this way because im new. I enjoy the game but the predator movies have that atmosphere that the people are being hunted for a period until they are attacked. Its that suspense of knowing somethings out there but not seeing it. With the game i dont feel like im being hunted, i just feel like im being attacked. 2 or 3 minutes into the match we are fighting the predator and its just non stop until either predator dies or we kill it. The objectives are so easy that i feel the predator doesnt have time to be strategic or stealthy. But at the same time, i feel like the time limit is so short that players cant strategize as the fireteam either. Just my opinion. Maybe when i get good, the game will be more strategic.
Fun but my biggest issue
Its unfortunately the way the game is. Its a fast paced, run and gun 1v4 with the goal of out-damaging the other side as fast as possible. And sadly, even with some buffs and nerfs to both sides last patch, it still heavily favors the Fireteam. There is no roleplay element where you can behave like in the movies, stalking around and picking them off one by one, I tried that when I first got the game too and got woke up hard about how it really is. There is strategy when it comes to playing Pred, specifically against premade squads, which yes you will need to get quite good at playing Pred to learn all of this, but the reality is its still a losing battle due to the balance issues. I’ve seen the best Pred go against the best FT on PC and he only won like, three out of 12 or 13 matches. And he’s extremely skilled, its not the fault of his playing, its how the game is.
Watch the videos on this channel to get the best ideas on how to play on both sides. He posts here a lot too, his name is @Samhain13. Playing Pred is a huge learning curve, just take your time, don’t get discouraged by losses and build up that muscle memory and you’ll notice changes in your play style.
What this dude said. Game favors ft, playing pred is hard mode.
Still, you can easily get good enough to win a majority of your matches, on either side.
