Hello Everyone and Illfonic team. As I’ve been playing the Predator and slaughtering hundreds of players I’ve started to day dream as I slayed and took trophies. I thought of something epic I’d like to share for something that may work better as a future game…maybe number 2 or it’s own game.
The game play for the Predator:HG is sound, there are loads of movement bugs like being on the ground and the game thinking I’m still in the tree…or for some reason my predator will start slashing away without my consent and I’ll have to get up and grab a drink to come back to see him still in a fit of rage nowhere near the fire team now and not even a button pressed…Takes a sip of his Cider drink and then when just planning to jump in and spook the team and then jump away…for some reason the leap away gets stuck whereI’ll be running around in circles and then making me feel like the fire team thinks I’m a total idiot predator when that’s not the case…
But when all that isn’t happening…Man is it an addiction! So here are some thoughts for the future!
~General new gameplay~
So having Aliens vs Predator vs Human vs Environment would be a spice up like no game! I guess it would be AvPvHvE. Having a galaxy where there would be many world types and each having quite large landscapes that change over time so they would not be the same each time, would allow consistent challenge for players. Having the ability to sail the stars while you plan your next mission as a human, or set your goal on your next trophy as a Predator and even envision an invasion as a Queen where she could steal a ship and prepare to decimate the next world.
Each sever could be it’s own world where there are so many slots for Pred/Xeno/Humans where they could eventually knock out an Xeno force or a Human force so there would only be Predator and another race for a time. Some kind of Tick clock would count till the event of Xeno/human forces coming into play again would be cool too.
Every world would be different, and the struggle between Xeno and Humans could be far too real as they would have a tug of war effect on planets where Predators would be the ones to mingle in between for fun…or even take sides time to time as they managed their prey. Environments would have their own mess of things with large and fierce beasts, weather that may change the tide of a battle zone, or even falling off a cliff into a bed of rocks by not knowing the land very well. Eating would be ideal to keep you at top health no matter what race you’d be, Starving would only lower your total health and stamina while eating would give you a boost before battle.

~Predators~
So with Predators, I have like 0 interaction with fellow Predators in PHG, it feels like my accomplishments are somewhat…unnoticed. So I propose that Early players, un-blooded predators would be sent to a planet where they have no gear except a wrist computer and must kill larger beasts to gain prestige that would allow access to better gear that could be customized like you have now with P:HG, but more in depth. They could later find Prey that has been dropped on this planet (Fire team players, Xenomorphs players, Also Other Predator players) that have higher trophies that can be collected that will give you greater prestige.
**Another mention, it would be awesome for Predators that became friends on the hunt to form a clan if they wished and could even have camps to display their victories while on planets.
Once enough prestige has been gained, they would get a notification of a pickup location where they would make there way to (Mini mission where Human would try to steal the ship and Xeno would try to stow away on it) the ship and head to a mother ship where they would then get to pick a ship of their own which they could use to traverse the galaxy in search of better trophies.
Every Predator would have their own mini ship that could launch from the mother ship to locations, However Having a clan would earn you your own Clan ship where everyone could travel together to worlds to find Prey. All ships can be decorated with Trophies of all different kinds, including beasts.
Predators could even go on missions vs other clans to Earn higher Clan tier levels which would allow for new gear that would look like more royal type of Predators…Scary for humans and xeno’s to see on a mission of their own. Mostly visual I would assume.
~Humans~
Are being dropped on a hunting planet where they will need to try and team up and survive and try to make it off the planet, Much like Predators 2010 movie. It wouldn’t be too hard for them to find weapons and fend off crazy beasts while trying to find ways off the planet. Downed ships where they would have to locate parts for it, or find a ship to steal before the predator gets to it so they can become blooded. Forming Fire teams is vital for Human survival vs the Predators and Xeno hoards as solo can be very hard for a player. I suspect a sever of the first hunting world would have around up to 8 Preds/20 Humans/15 Xeno’s slots. (As Xeno’s would have NPC minions of their own)
After the mission for humans to escape they would travel back to earth or a colony (They can choose together by vote) and make it back home where they are cheered for their return by civilians. Once back they are given basic apartments (Which can later be upgraded to lofts, and even a nice house) and reinstated into the military where they will earn rank and better high end equipment with those ranks. Human players can form platoons with the military or mercenaries and get star ships which can travel to planets for missions of recovering artifacts/rescue missions/Defense missions of colonies/assault missions on Predators/Xenos establishments. The Military and Mercenaries don’t really hold hands together so even sometimes they may come into conflict with themselves which would add more spice to the mix.
Human homes can be decorated by Military or Mercenary rewards along with pictures of comrades you do well with if you wish. Ships have dorms for Platooned players where they can also decorate them. Dorms rooms would be picked when the player comes online, this could do well with both Humans and Predator ships.
~Xenomorphs~
These bad boys were tricky to think about, however with the amount of content this game idea may have, allows for a large variety of DNA altered Xenos where a player can build themselves through many different creatures giving them many different skills and abilities. Downing a crazy large beast, and then later getting into a Pred and then another beast could result in a new Xeno that may be quite the formidable foe.
Every player starts as a new queen and they must find an area to create a hive (A place to dig in and call home) and slowly lay eggs. As xeno’s are a collective mind, you also play the xeno babies as you find host’s to grow your numbers. Hives must be protected as it represents you as a whole. Players can merge forces in a world by joining a hive and electing to be a Praetorian “Royal guard” of the queen and can also help expand the numbers of the main hive by joining forces.
Ai would have to be pretty smart as they would need to follow orders of simple direction, following the player but also giving the player space, and plan strategies you can share to your Npcs. An example could be…Attack this area > Use attack plan 1 (A custom plan where one npc would rush in the middle and avoid being shot a while the rest circle and move in.)
Or attack plan 2 (Would be Attacking in waves or another by attempting stealth assaults only etc). This would allow the player to have leadership among the Xeno’s and be able to do their own thing as their attacks conduct, Or they could even sit back and hope their forces wipe out whoever they are attacking.
I thought a bit about Xenos and figured their home styles would be underground hives to start with on the first drop on the planet. And eventually escape by a Pred ship where it will take a moment for you to learn the basic controls of the ship while your Xeno force defends the ship. (maybe a different way to get off the planet? But just an idea right now.) Once gone you have your hive in the ship and can grow eggs and build a small force. You can choose a planet and head there and crash into the planet where you would then attempt to survive that planet. You’d have to find a new location to build a hive…Maybe a deserted colony? An old mining shaft? This would be a starting ground and home of operations where you would attempt to destroy all you see and make it your own as it should be as you are the queen…
Xeno’s would require lots of strategy and pre thought compared to Humans and Predators, and most definitely the most challenging of the lot. Xeno’s rewards would mostly be DNA building over time of advanced Xeno’s and making your Queen unique and deadly.
There is room for loads of story for something like this, Lots of gadgets for both humans and predators and DNA styles for Xeno’s where every Xena hive may look different and behave differently. I also wanted to see what others thought of this idea too ;) Would love to hear pitched ideas added!
