Future Movies

I agree. Idk if you’ve seen the newest “the predator” but it’s more of a well orchestrated coincidence that they all happen upon each other than what is portrayed in the first movie as a physical hunt. Cool stuff happened but I feel like it missed what predator is

I doubt very much this game will have any affect on the direction or story of any potential future film. Given that the last movie had a largish budget and did terribly at the box office (plus was hated by just about everyone, and rightly so) I wouldn’t go expecting any new movies for quite some time, if ever.

Personally I’d love to see a high-end HBO or Netflix series instead, but given the ownership, there’s even less chance of that, and there’s zero chance of Disney doing a ‘Mandalorian’ style show for the Predator (unless they were to butcher it into PG oblivion).

Oh, they will… I’ll bet my spinal column and skull on that. Prepare for Predators “Last Jedi” moment, it’s coming.

That’s a good idea! But the new movie was hinting a sequel and I heard it was going to be a trilogy, maybe with feedback from the devs of this game will show what fans really want

As long as Shane Black isn’t involved.

The last movie was atrocious.

Lots of movies do endings which are designed to leave them open for sequels. Doesn’t mean they’ll ever happen (look at all the Terminator reboots). The ultimate factor in whether a sequel gets made is how much profit the initial movie made.

Also, the ending of ‘The Predator’ was a tacked on last minute decision after they failed to secure Schwarzenegger for a cameo. They also filmed/made props for the pod at the end to include either Ripley or Newt (I know - makes zero chronological sense, but the photos are out there if you google).

Alien is a redundant property now, thanks to Ridley Scott’s depressing Covenant movie. That story is dead, and the script for a rumored Alien 5 will just be more Dark Fate-style appeasements to Chinese moviegoers.

Predator Hunting Grounds has a more interesting back story than the 2018 Predator movie for sure. A tv series might be the way to go…

No the directors said they were going to make a trilogy and ya Arnold walked off because they wanted him as a cameo not a character which in my opinion was a good decision, if it wasn’t for him predator wouldn’t have been so good, he deserves a better roleimage

How does that invalidate what I said? Yes, they had ‘big plans’ and they spoke to Arnold, but he wasn’t interested in a bit part. They then explored the idea of having Ripley or Newt as some sort of ‘WTF, to be continued’ McGuffin at the end of the movie. In the end they went with the IronPred abomination.

Just because the Director says they plan on making a trilogy doesn’t mean shit if the first movie makes no money. Terminator Genisys (or whatever it was called) was heavily setup for a trilogy - that worked out well!

Why do you have to be so mean, I’m saying maybe the directors will see how positive this game gets and want to go this direction to make a better movie but you just want Predator to die because of that new one? Are you even a fan!

Ok, firstly, I was hardly being mean, secondly, at this point I’m not sure if you’re a bit stupid or a weird troll (yes, that’s now mean).

I’ve been a fan since the first movie when I saw it back in 87, so don’t bother with the ‘are you a REAL fan BS’. I was just trying to set out some realistic expectations of what is likely to happen with the franchise.

Why on earth would the ‘Directors’ look at a game’s reception (and let’s face it- this is not some huge seller anyway), and then have the ability to dictate that they can make another Predator movie so soon after the last one just flopped?

Anyway, I’m done replying to your witless posts. Like I said - you’re either a bit stupid or some sort of weird-ass troll - both of which I have no time for.

Realistically isn’t going to inspire them to make a Predator movie if theirs people like you negativity responding to their content and being a immature twit who acts like a 5 year old and still name calls

On a more positive note - Who would you have write and direct a new Predator film?

Isn’t it obvious? Arnold

what

Well think about it, he wanted a role so he can give himself one and judging by his tabes in the game he’s a good story teller

With Disney and marvel new holds on both Alien and predator franchise i’m scared of futur movie.

Arnold is not a writer nor director lol.

On topic, I’d like to see Gareth Edwards give it a shot directing, pretty high visual effects standards with a sense of scale. Not big on quips. Makes really outlandish sci-fi concepts look grounded. Usually kills characters off after their role’s over.
He’s like a reverse jj abrams. Hot take but the only good movie JJ Abrams ever directed was Cloverfield. Ideas guy.

McG did a pretty great job on Terminator Salvation…now that wasn’t a Arnold flick, more like a visual homage…but i think he should stand a chance against neysayers but if they would make a new movie, i’m certain he would do it every justice it could possibly takeon.

The only noteworthy thing about Terminator Salvation is Christian Bale’s infamous outburst.

That movie was terrible. What a waste of the future war concept. Doesn’t even remotely come close to the dreary, hopeless depiction we saw in James Cameron’s flashbacks/forwards.

Both of these franchises have been tarnished due to hacks like that.
