Game Breaking Leap Bounces Need To Go!

I’m so sick of losing matches against good teams because the leap is broken as hell. It can take a small rock just in front of you to mess up your entire leap. I literally tried to leap 5 times in a row, all 5 got messed up. If I play a match against a good team and I leap 5 times and 5 times I don’t push any distance. I bounce against branches, trees, rocks. Freaking everything… then GG, game over. I lost against the game-engine.

We need a rework on the leap mechanics so the retarded bouncing stops. I don’t mind hitting a branch as much as leaping vertically upwards because there was a pebble in my way.

Make sure there is a small “no collision” window at the start of every leap. This will fix 50% of the issues. Fighting a proper pre-made is hard enough. They will burn you down in a second if you start bouncing once you NEED to go.

Also, fix the freaking pig spawns. It’s unpredictable as hell, mostly if you finish a match without spotting a single pig once. More so if you fight against good teams and your leaps start bouncing around.

It’s especially bad with long jump

They must simply … deactivate the hitbox of the feet and the head at the time of the jump … To avoid tapping the head against the branches and the feet against the stones … Simple … 🤦‍♂️

This might fix it, but it will not fix the entire problem. I’ve also experienced deviated leaps that don’t even go towards where I wanted to go. And then there is the issue of high ping for the predator that forces you to lead your shots according to your ping. Which for some weird ass reason also impacts your leaping.

I don’t think it will fix the problem honestly. But we can’t have Predator’s clipping the levels either. So it might be the best solution. What we really need is a accurate prediction of your jumps. That if you collide with something, the “this is where you land” icon doesn’t show. It’s really misleading to jump towards an area in which the game’s feedback is: “this is where you land”.

But in reality, you jump 3 times for max distance. You first bounce a pebble moving you 20 meters to your left. The second one you magically hit the side of a tree you weren’t aiming at. The third time you hit a branch mid-air.

And all 3 leaps seemed to land just fine on screen.

Yep…

This is one of my biggest issues with the game. I hate leaping only for a microscopic rock to throw me off course because I slightly nudged it. It can be a game changer. Maybe we could allow Predators to quickly climb larger rocks and other objects? For smaller objects I’m guessing just remove their collision because it’s stupid that a pebble can completely interrupt my leap.

Be thankful the hit reg is awful enough to make you invincible in most jump cases even from directly from behind and that you have invincibility frames from climbing trees. The predator would be dead without those hidden buffs.

This. I mean… You’d think these ‘flaws’ are ironed out during development. I truly get the feeling this game was rushed at the end and never received proper playtesting.

These are flaws that I would have spotted from day 1. Mostly because you can - and will - lose matches because of it.

Can you imagine a racing game where you can flip your entire car over if you hit a pebble next/on the road? Or a golf game where your accuracy “might” steer the ball 30 degrees to a different direction.

No. It’s kinda game-breaking. Even if it only happens 1/50 times. Also when it happens 5 times in a row.

High gameplay? Trees against good squads are pure suicide. I get killed because I magnet straight towards a tree when I try to jump avoid the melee FT member get sniped by their sniper and there is one dude with the Revolver with amazing accuracy who took 50% of my hp with a clip and a half. Downing me from 100% Hp down to 25% because of the game not working with you.

If you design a 1vs4 game. Make 100% sure that the solo player (the Predator) has flawless gameplay. No bullshit.

But here we are.

I think I would prefer to take a small bit of damage for “bumping my head” and then be able to somewhat clip through the obstacles, over the leap being interrupted.

On the flip side, I find I am not leaping as much against the better teams. It would seem too many of them have low graphics/potatoe mode and will see and spot/snipe from across the map anyhow.

It should leap where trajectory shows, either noclip or fix arc to include bounced which would need fixing camera to show full trajectory.

Yeah I love it when I try to get away with leap only to smack my face into a branch.

Something like that as well. I mean… you kinda get used to it. But when in slight panic, or you NEED to rush, actually going where the interface is telling you…

Let’s say it like this.

In the classes “user experience” it is very important to make sure that the user will predict what he/she has to do, and the program actually doing what is expected. You run these prototypes through test groups a few times and make sure that your test groups have the right base of knowledge so they know what they are looking for.

Cutting corners, lowers the quality of the iterations between prototypes risking financial disaster. You only drop the quality on purpose if you’ve spend to much funds on creating the product and calculated the potential losses once the predicted buy’s come in.

Also, being partners with Epic Games can be a dangerous game because your publicity is on the low side. Nice perks with earnings, but what do you get in return? No ability to post reviews and make it public this game came out in a horrid state? Yeah, thats a +
