GAME changing suggestion for final FT member

PLEASE HEAR ME OUT!!

So I started a casual binge watch yesterday of the predator movies… Predator (1987) and Predators (2010) are still my favorites.

My favorite part of the 2010 movie is when Hanzo found that Samurai Sword in Noland’s hiding pit… and then he said that the blade was old… as in feudal Japan era old. Meaning the Predators have been bringing human warriors there for centuries.

Imagine the Devs giving a full Samurai Sword (or other unique melee weapons), that you can ONLY pull out and use, if you’re the final surviving member of the FT. This could initiate a duel between you and the Predator. The weapon does more damage than the regular combat knife, but just enough damage so it isn’t OP, and it makes for a good fight. The weapon could be included as an extra special side slot in your loadout… they could also give us challenges to unlock said weapons.

Cuz I mean, their Yautja culture is pretty honorable, in the sense that they’ll always accept your 1v1 and turn off their energy weapons if you want to fight with blades and other melee weapons. So I feel like this would be a nice compliment to the game and the franchise’s lore.

BUT, as the last surviving member of Fireteam… if you decide to do damage to the predator with your gun or any other projectiles, you forfeit the chance to a proper duel and must face the consequences of a harder less cool fight lol

Edit: A good point was made in one of the replies… Predator should have the option to decline, and finish the last member off however they see fit.

I mean…the dev’s don’t need to force it(not like they could because that’s like adding an entire new mechanic to the game. )

If you want to be a true Vautja just don’t use any equipment other than your wrist blades when the final guy is alive. That’s what I do. Unless I’m a scout then I just use uncharged plasma shots at close range. AND NO CLOAKING BIACH

…i don’t think a samurai sword really suits this game at the current time.

i also think this game isn’t meant to be, or play out like the movies/comics. there’s not supposed to be plot armor and is generally meant to be in favour of the pred at all times unless the ft is well coordinated. the 1v1 is a good idea but there’s no need for special weapons. it should basically be for the pred player to either flex/taunt the last member of the ft or if they want to actually give them some sort of chance to win.

This isn’t such a bad idea. A machete would fit better I think. It would be fun for the dead Fireteam to watch while waiting also.

I think with a game like this thats just too hard to balance with that kind of thing. I like the idea of sacrificing a gun for a melee weapon that does a lot of damage. Issue with your idea if its just the solo player with this samari sword and the predator low health. No chance any knowlegable predator is going to then go in and melee. Just easer sit on a big rock and spam boom boom shoulder gun.

That’s a fair point. I’m not entirely sure which direction they’re going, but I think they’re adding their own flavor to the franchise’s lore.
