Game Mode concept: Hardcore (No Second Chances.)

I doubt what I am about to mention will ever make it into the main hunt mode but I would like to see it as maybe either a weekend event or its own separate mode.

But the idea is that the fireteam can’t reinforce and the predator can’t use second wind. I feel like it will make matches feel a lot more fun and intense for both sides and it will drag out matches because you’ll have to play carefully as either side.

Edit: I would also like to add that perhaps the fireteam can only be downed once in this mode. And if they’re downed again it kills them.

In short it’s basically a “lite hardcore” mode.

I like it. I think it’s how it should have been.

I agree it should’ve been like that. But I can only hope for a mode like it :)

I think that would make everyone play more cautiously, I like it.

Great Idea @GrimmReaper. I’m totally down for something like this.

At the very least, if this doesn’t become some kind of Thing, @IllFonic should definitely add in Options to Private Matches with things like Timer Settings, Health Modifiers, Down State Modifiers, Ammo Spawns/Drop Rates and Enemy Difficulty/Spawns/Volume.

If we can’t get these Options in Quickplay, we should explore these Options while playing with Friends. I think we’ll eventually get all of this seeing how Friday the 13th: The Game eventually got Private Match Modifiers. And Hunting Grounds’ current Roadmap feels eerily familiar to F13th’s.

Yeah I’d like to see customisation for private matches be added eventually. Let’s just hope it doesn’t take as long as it did for F13 lol.

I agree. Even though it took longer it’s still there. And considering how well Illfonic is currently handling Hunting Grounds (at least in my Opinion) I’m sure we’ll get it sooner than later.

Yeah as long as more and more people request it, it’ll be added much quicker. Even though it took ages for F13 I’m glad it’s finally there. It adds a lot more replay value to the game.

Yep!! And one last Comment here:

It kinda blows my Mind that Friday the 13th: The Game has gotten the slew of updates that it has. Even with the Lawsuit that totally fucking wrecked it they’re still supporting it. I believe a Patch is due very soon that addresses many Balancing Issues. That’s awesome.

It is pretty cool how it’s still getting updates despite everything that happened. But I have to say it isn’t illfonic working on the game anymore. Development shifted over to a small team called black tower studios. But nonetheless they’ve been doing a decent job with the game so far.

Agreed. Having this mode would make both sides play more tactically, and be much more immersive.

If they can’t or don’t want to implement it as a standalone mode, they could implement it as a bi-weekly style event similar to how Ghost Recon Wildlands PVP has different style game modes every fortnight which are voted on by the player base.

As long as it makes its way into the game in some form or another, then I’m as happy as can be. But if it’s a bi weekly event I’d probably be begging for it to remain permanent lol.

actually yes, that sounds very good…
but as a hardcore mod. :)))

This is too good an idea to let slip down the forum. Might be an idea to change the thread title to something a little more descriptive so it has more of a chance being seen by the game developers.

Something along the lines of: ‘Game Mode Concept: Hardcore (No Second Chances)’

That’s a good idea! Thanks! :)

I like it but for this to happen, predator can’t trigger camp alarms spawning absurd amount of ai for FT to kill before arriving to the camp and then predator comes in for the swooping. or predator needs energy cells and not have unlimited plasma caster and cannon fire.

hardcore mode needs to introduce a limit counter on all projectiles.

Sure, limit the Pred even more, how about we only give the FT 90 rounds worth of ammo too…

I can somewhat agree with the predator not triggering alarms. But I don’t think he should have limited energy. I can see where you’re coming from with that the predator could just spam caster in this mode and it would be more effective but on the other hand it’s not the hardest thing to counter and it does leave predator relatively still and it does give away his position. I’d probably say no to limiting his energy.
