I agree he isn’t there to win he’s there to hunt, but nerfing him even farther than he is now would be suicide. And he would at least need the clicking to stop when crouched so he could sit and watch quietly waiting for the right time to strike.
Game mode idea.
The stealth suggestions aren’t that bad. At least while he’s not attacking.
It’s the weapon changes and a couple other bits. As the match progress, you can’t make him weaker that wouldn’t feel fair, so at the start he can’t be to strong or strong enough to just destroy one side or the other.
It’s been a good chat, we don’t have to agree 100%. We could play test them and find they both suck, lol. It’s one problem with thinking your though experiment is an accurate reflection of what it would play out as. We all think we know best. Conversation can reveal the weaknesses and make the idea’s better though.
Agreed good chat 😋
I love the idea, but the problem is, is that both teams could ignore objectives and choose to hunt predator and make it 1v8
Yes they could, and that’s why I provided a reason for them not to. I specifically wanted the cartel members to have less health than fireteam members for this exact reason, you see the cartel being at a major disadvantage like that gives them reason to want the predator around to distract and weaken the fire team. And the cartel has the ability to spawn every checkpoint reached unless killed and claimed by the predator, giving the fireteam a reason to want the predator around.
I like the concept.
And that’s what it is, a concept.
You can’t expect the guy to come up with a fully fleshed flawless idea in one shot by himself. :P
But I really like the idea of two teams of Humans on opposing sides attempting to complete an objective, while the Predator has their own objective to complete as well, that directly impacts each team.
I’d like to see the Predator’s ‘mission’ change dynamically based upon how each Human team is progressing. The Predator should function as a kind of ‘balancing’ force.
You wouldn’t want the Predator just favouring one team over another, as that would be a very quick victory for one side.
Perhaps this is a game mode where ‘respawns’ could be available, or reinforcements could be infinite.
Great idea @Yautjahunter
Well you hit the nail on the head, the predator can’t focus on 1 team or it would allow the other to complete their objective faster than he can down them, the predators best play is to simply observe and wait for the right time to strike, picking off the stragglers, and the weakest in the group. Its only hope of getting both teams down is to plan an ambush after both teams have weakened each other and even then plan needs to be executed perfectly for it to work.
That would translate into a FPS game for the marines/cartel (or whatever they are) as the predator has all the non-fps fun. If people want to play FPS games, you can find far, far, far better games out there.
You need to keep the predator engaged at all times since that is the things that separates the game from other things. For instance, if the FT captures a base, then attack choppers should be called to hunt the predator so he has to stop them or make it harder for himself, if another base is captured some attack drones and so on. The more he does not stop the FT from getting basses, the harder it get’s for him to do anything. Now I am just throwing random ideas out but you can’t have a game where the marines get weaker and weaker with no intervention of the predator as he can just sit there and wait for the right time to pounce.
This game mode isn’t intended to be a predator vs fire team match, it’s intended to be an pvp rpg for the humans, and a true hunting experience for the predator. It’s essentially the same game mode we already have except more in-depth and challenging for all sides.
There is no hunter experience when you can’t punish the predator. I keep seeing predators saying that the “true hunter experience” is the predator having no issues butchering everything. There is no challenge for the predator in this game mode UNLESS you can press him just as well. Him staying in perfect stealth and killing whoever he likes when he likes is not challenging for him and not fun for the rest. You need to have mechanics to put the predator in danger just as well. Its absurd that you think giving the fireteam something this difficult to fight (other real life people) but also buffing the predator to all hell is a good idea.
Oh and as long as the predator engages the fire team its predator vs fireteam but also vs carter.
I found that the problem with the current game mode we have, is that the ft missions are boring, so I asked myself why. I came to the conclusion that the ai is so easy and the missions themselves are lacking in depth and challenge that it is dull and boring to play as the fireteam. To make the ai more challenging and fun I decided to add 4 human players with lower hp than the ft but have ai helping them and respawning at every checkpoint to ensure a challenge the whole game for the fireteam, to balance the infinite spawn I added that if downed and claimed by the predator that player no longer spawns. If the fireteam captures a cartel member they can’t move or respawn but can be freed by their team or the predator.
There was also the issues with the fire team and drug lords teaming up against the predator, this won’t work because the ai helping the cartel will attack the ft, and the low health of the cartel requires the predator to weaken the fireteam In order for the cartel to get an advantage over them.
The predator can’t simply rush in and kill 1 side or it will off set the balance and allow the other team a clean sweep real quick.
The missions are irrelevant. The gunplay is not even mediocre in this game. The only thing fun for the FT is the interaction with the predator and outfighting him/hunting him themselves when he overcommits. Removes that aspect and this game has NOTHING.
Fighting AI (no matter how skilled) is boring in this game, fighting other humans with guns? Just as boring.
The only fun anybody would have are the predators who are going to be godlike in here. If you increase the challenge the FT get’s, you need to decrease the power of the predator.
Then the carter, even weaker then FT… People don’t like playing as fodder eve if they respawn. They really don’t.
Also, you NEED to find something pressing the predator to engage, right now is the FT finishing the missions fast and leaving. If he can just sit there and let the FT fight it out with the cartel and just drop in with they are all low on health/gear and wiping everything…
Also the complete stealth you gave the predator. He can sit somewhere and with the insane distraction of AI+humans attacking one another, he can just shoot at them all day with no worry.
This is a horrible idea, as a predator main. A good 4 man fireteam is enough get good or play call of duty. Why would anybody want to play as drug cartel the way you suggest or predator for that matter. Predator will have 8 tryhards overpowered guns and knives. Bro you obviously don’t play as predator very much because if you did you would know 4 good players can be hard to beat epecially if they are a pc fireteam.
Look if you don’t like this game then don’t play it, but don’t try to undermine this game mode just because you don’t like it, if anything why not add your own input and suggestions.
I was pointing out flaws in your game mode, you seem to don’t like that.
I do like this game but it has major issues and on that many, MANY people agree on.
No you pointed out your idea of flaws with the game in general, your so quick to assume this won’t work just because there are better gun games?
I don’t mind constructive critisizem but you didn’t provide intent to be helpful at all.
I’m a predator main, and I do agree that a pre made pc fire team is very hard to beat, this game mode isn’t meant for the predator to try and win, its meant to make the ft fun while providing a fun new experience as the cartel, and a true hunting experience as the predator. The predators goals are taking as many trophies as possible utilizing the new distractions provided by the new human threat.
