Game mode idea.

Fire team vs Drug Cartel (4v4v1)

Changes:

Fire team:
Remains the same in stats and damage.

Drug Cartel:
Lower health than ft.
All AI fights for them.
Can lay traps.
Unique perks and gear.

Predator:
Health remains the same.

Stomping slightly muffled but still audible from distance when running or landing from a leap.

No clicking when crouched.

Ranged weapons glow removed.

Traps are no longer escapable by yourself and add a limp effect once free.

Nets now slow movement and are harder to escape.

Fully charged caster can now down assault class.

These buffs to predator are to accommodate for the 8v1.

Fire team objectives:
The fireteams goal is to capture or neutralize the Drug cartel and destroy/free any (intel, drugs, bio weapons, captives) found at their location. Must kill or capture all 4 cartel players and their cargo before progressing. Keeps the ability for reinforcements.

Drug Cartel:
Players are randomly selected in que to be either fire team or Cartel.
Cartel respawns at the next objective, unless killed and claimed by the predator or captured by the fire team. The cartels goals are to successfully transport and protect their cargo to the buyers location. Stopping at different locations to resupply and reenforce.

Predator:
With 4 new threats added to the game the predator needs to remain cautious, relying on its stealth, watching, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. The predators goal is to claim the trophies of the fire team and cartel enforcers before either can complete their mission.

I would like to add that I here by forfeit any rights to this idea over to Illfonic and if they chose to add this or some version of this into the game that would satisfy me and be considered rewarding enough.

Opportunities:
This idea also presents opportunity to play as iconic characters such as King Willie From predator 2. Perhaps future dlc?

Interesting, not sure about the Predator buffs. Needs win conditions for the FT and drug Cartel guys. Predator should be balanced around not killing them all in an 4v4v1, if you wipe one side or the other, you are guaranteeing the other side their win conditions. You should have to hunt smart if you want more than 4 kills.

Time limit increase. Maybe added during the mission for objective completion. This way two teams are pushing the clock up and it can be small increases. This lets the teams apply a small, time pressure to the Predator.

STGZ should be an option instead of Cartel members in my opinion. Rather have a new set of STGZ mercy to customize and play. Some could look like cartel members, it would also speed up the production as those characters have models.

Any input is appreciated, and please keep in mind the predator is up against 8 players now not 4 so that’s why I suggested the slight buffs, I don’t feel they are major buffs all things considering.

That’s the thing, it works better if it’s a 4 v 4 with a +1, the Predator is an extra threat, but you want Players to play it like their trying to out survive the other team. Otherwise, with a buffed Predator, they will team up to kill it and then fight. Outlasting the other side, gives you motivation to play it properly.

The mode needs to have a winning team of humans unless the Pred plays a really good game, slowly eliminating the teams equally then downing the last two rival humans. This probably shouldn’t happen to often as you need some of the 8 FT players to feel like they’re winning too.

Ok to be clear, I stated that the predators health is to stay the same. I simply Suggested a slight damage buff to the caster, traps add a wounded limp effect and harder to escape, nets harder to escape and a slowing effect. That’s hardly a buff at all compared to having 4 extra players to deal with, and if they do decide to team up I thought about that and said remove clicking and stomping when crouched.

Plus the drug lords have the ability to respawn At every objective and if they reach their finishing objective everyone loses. The point of this is to provide the effect that the Drug cartel players are preventing the Fire team from completing their objectives along with ai on their side, all while trying to complete their own objectives, the predators goal is to pick off who he can at opportune moment. Thus providing a good hunt for the predator, and an exciting fight for the fireteam and drug lords.
The fire teams goal is to prevent the drug lords from completing their objectives and making their delivery. The only way the match ends is if the predator defeats everyone (not likely), the fireteam captures the 4 drug lords, the fire team completes their objective, or the cartel completes their objective.

So what’s stopping the predator from not engaging seriously until the FT and drug carter exhausted one another (end even have some losses) and then jumping in and killing everybody? More so with the insane buffs you gave him?

The way I designed this game mode is based off of the quote from AVP. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”. The predator is both beneficial and damaging to the fire team and also to the drug lords.

The dead drug lords can spawn in every time their team member reaches an objective or every time a fireteam member reaches an objective. The only way to stop that is if a predator downs him and claims a trophy from him. The predator can’t fight 8 people all at once with the same health so he needs to sit and wait, think strategically, he’d die quick just jumping in. A wise predator would watch and wait, Plan an attack, set a trap, and strike when the moments right.

I like my 4 v 4 + 1 scenario better. It doesn’t feel like your only there for the Pred to kill if you can achieve victory by defeating the other team.

While your Re-spawn idea is interesting, people already complain about reinforcements. I think a team game works better, the Pred is the unknown factor, is he killing them or waiting till we kill half of them for him. We’ll be low on ammo/health. What if the Pred attacks and the STGZ troops reinforce? The tension effects both teams equally.

Also new strats, ‘why’d the FT let that last STGZ trooper hold up in the sniper tower?’… ‘bait’.

Sounds like you don’t want the predator to be much of a challenge at all then sorry to hear that.

I too play scout fun fact against 8 people scout would lose every time without these slight changes and buffs

By lose I do mean get killed, quickly.

See we have different expectations for this. You want an 8v1, I want a 4v4+1.

No I want 4v4+1 but the simple fact is it’s 8 players and the predator is trying to down a few of them without getting killed, your expecting him to be able to do that without some way of remaining hidden.

The only way for this to work is if the predator get’s weaker and weaker (through some mechanics) the more the FT conquers bases. Like getting more revives themselves or something. If not, nothing is stopping the predator for engaging when they almost killed one another.

Your mindset is what allows the predator to be hunted down and killed instead of doing objectives.

Why don’t you just play James Cameron mode? Has that not been made public yet?

You have ways to hide as Predator. Here’s the thing, the FT and STGZ/Cartel guys are going to be killing each other. Predator is there to pick people off. Not stomp the lobby.

I expect two members of each team to kill two others on the opposite team. With the Predator getting to pick people off with stealth after they’ve been downed a few times by the other team.
I expect it to be hard to kill four other Player while worrying about the Predator stealth killing me or the guy giving me support. By the end of the match if the Pred has played slow and smart, he’ll have a couple of trophies. But he isn’t there to win, he’s there to hunt.
