Gaming as a whole is lacking in love and the innovation raw talent provided during the time before UE, Unity, of course I think plenty of random people are outliers especially with indie games comparably game creators of Baulders Gate vs anything Ubisoft would pump out today. The mass of 3D and 2D pipeline tools were readily available to the public, current debacles within companies brings politics and irrelevant projection to current day games, marketing success stories like Fortnite have butchered the incentive of publishers and even companies either at a root or cooperate level, games are shipping unfinished with haphazard and with reckless abandonment not to mention games being produced are beyond people’s general scope of time… even to simply enjoy due to the cost of living weighing more heavily than getting invested in other developers more likely cliche and uninspired workings.
Games are not necessarily dead but the love and redeemable value is dying and the more accessibility to workflow improvements or fidelity the further away the end product will be from anything relatable or desirable for the relative population that doesn’t have brain rot would actually enjoy

I genuinely agree with you sir I’m finding it harder to invest into this & get anything back & it’s not like I expected to get anything out of it but my enjoyment & if that’s slowly diminishing then what’s the point maybe a break into different aspects is necessary but one things forsue is the love & passion is dying & that’s a damn shame
