In general streaming communities can be toxic as fuck, but IMO this is how people should handle things.
Is a long video and unrelated to gaming, but shows how a dude that was a “nobody” went from a few subs to hundred thousands overnight, just because someone, who skilled as fuck but undoubtedly less skilled than this dude, asked his viewers to subscribe to him. Literally promoted him. Dude is now making a fair living. He does explain he really had to push himself to make better content and work harder for it, but reached a million subs within two years, thanks to another popular streamer. There’s room for everyone, no need to be selfish.

holy shit, In the beginning with Lordy and the game Lordy would fight me and my squad, when the community noticed me in his matches and started going bananas over the stupid ass memes the dude blocked me. Unfriended me. and asked me not to self promote. It really hurt my feelings because I help this dude get noticed and when He found out I had connections to the PHG devs he came back and asked me to ask them for stuff. Like ouchies

yea, then after he streamed a match against my squad, the viewers saw me and said they loved the memes i make, soon after he said i was promoting myself. I was very confused
