Yea, ik. But the only real outlier to this is Clash. In terms of canoncity, of course HG is under the rule of “Canon until it isn’t”, and it’s exactly that. Canon. AvP, Neca, and now Comic stuff is in the game. Ain’t that swell?

How is AvP canon to Predator now? Also do you happen to have Illfonic’s statements? Because AvP isn’t canon to their game. Its simply not. If it is, where is Weyland-Yutani? Where are the androids? Colonial Marines? Where are the Xenomorphs? The ancient hunting rituals Preds would do on earth with Xenos? Where are any mentions whatsoever to any of that? Why aren’t the AvP Preds in the game, and why are their masks labeled differently? Do you have legitimate, logical answers to any of these questions? Also Alpha is canon, but is not canon to AvP.

you mean all the dead preds that are in the game, neon purple masks, zeus not telling them whats out there when they’re allegedly hunting predators? Can you specify which missions are “canon?”
only thing remotely relevant is the tapes and thats very generous considering these are film franchises that have never cared about or referenced the games or neca time travel shit.

AvP is Canon to Predator by the same way Alpha is Canon to Predator. It is in Hunting Grounds. Hunting Grounds is Canonical to Predator as per Illfonic on statements made before the Game Released and even this year when concerning other lore.
Off the game, Illfonic has been seen confirming stuff as Canon Twitter. Obviously they would have had been given authorization to post stuff like this as everything is supposedly hush hush with them.

I’m not gonna be a idiot and say just because Xeno Skull was in Pred 2 or Lex Spear in The Pred cause those are Easter Eggs and not indicative of Canon.
There doesn’t need to be W-Y or Xenos themsleves in HG or mentioned to make AvP Canon. We really just need the appearances of these character’s masks. If you need a honest to lore explanation, then it’s just not mentioned as Concrete Jungle supposedly takes place 5 years after Hunting Grounds.
I honestly am a bit lost when it comes to the names of the Masks as Falconer shouldn’t be named “Foxtrot”. Mr. Black is fine so I honestly don’t think it’s a AvP Mask issue.
If it was, I could compare it to the Jason Vorehees situation. Is it Jason Vorheees if you don’t mention his mom? Ofc it is. Just like how Celtic’s Mask is Celtic even if you call it “Mors”, or Falconer’s “Foxtrot”.

Fox hasn’t given a single fuck about pred canon since its inception, you have books that don’t even remotely try to line up with movie events. They’ll market games as canon because it sells - Colonial Marines.

Should I remind you that Coloinal Marine’s story isn’t even Canon anymore? Just the Xeno Breeds or the Tech, but the story has been officially retconned. HG is a different case because it worked.

I get what you’re saying, and I’ve already admitted that HG is Canon until the day it isn’t. For now tho? Def Canon and what it brings, not whatever customization the player brings into it is Canon.
Might be Canon for a while. Will have to see what Skulls or Marvel’s Pred will do but meh.
AvP is canon, explain the Xeno tail spear in the last Predator movie. Now we have AvP masks in a somewhat canon game, making AvP canon. Change my mind.

I don’t mention that because it’s technically a Easter egg but The Predator was planned to be a AvP Movie anyway (Time Travling Ripley and Ms Yutani from Requiem) so it works.
