Ok, not saying you’re mistaken, but how do we know there’s a doppelganger godzilla? Did you pause the trailer and see that somewhere? Is there a specific time of that? Cuz I desperately want to see that.

Pause at the map where they’re trying to connect the Godzilla incidents. There are attacks on apex and seperate attacks at random locations.

First question was why the hell are they using mechagodzilla of all characters rly. And then I was like ooh for the plot twist for anyone who hasn’t seen the mechagodzilla movie and an excuse to have them fight. And guarantee it goes beserk by the end and humans lose control of it. Still goofy but creative considering the quality of the average VS movie.
also one of the toys that released with the rest of the movie figures has an apparatus on his back so likely godzillas restraints after they catch him so your number 4s probably also spot on. I would spoiler the rest of the post but these people should’ve seen mechagodzilla vs godzilla already or they deserve it. If they just put all this in to double ruse everyone with a basic brainwash story I cant rly defend this movie for atleast trying to be creative either xd, but seems like obvious plot twist point rather than copy pasting BvS. Or they throw in multiple different sized godzilla species in an attempt to subvert everyones assumptions and the monsterverse dies right here right now with a Spiderman 3 tier plot.

Jk but i’ve never seen a movie by this guy that doesn’t throw in a random plot twist even if its of no benefit to the movie. You’re Next with the home invaders being hired by the family. The guest with David being MK Ultra’d committing all the killings, Blair Witch with the mystery deaths, ending, and entire hype campaign
I’m not sure why Warner gave a thriller director a monster movie, strangely experimental for an expensive franchise but w/e.

Saw that, but that looks like Mechagodzilla with all the red lights. I was speaking of an actual doppelganger, kinda like the original Mechagodzilla film, where he was basically a terminator-godzilla. I didn’t see that in particular, like battle damage revealing metal underneath the skin.
