Handheld Plasma Caster needs nerf

I’m fine with the adjustments that Illfonic made to the damage and such with it. But it seriously needs a limited ammo count or limited use. This infinite ammo with the damage buff is bullshit. And it doesn’t effect the predators power reserves or anything so it is OP as hell and infinite use with a 1 to 2 second reload between each volley of 6 shots. It should have a maximum of like 18 ammo before it’s useless for the rest of the match. No other weapon has infinite ammo so why should the Handheld Plasma Caster have infinite ammo.

Agreed, I use the pp in my main pred loudout because you can be cloaked and use it and if you have modified reserves and light bender then you have infinite cloak (literally) and this setup is just sit back and be a pussy loadout basically but it gives Ws so what can I say. They made the damage good but it needs a cool down when you use your 6 shots and you need it to recharge or something

Post buff I saw its use and realize its infinite reloads - yo wtf

No. Not it doesn’t.
It’s fine how it is.
Because if they did make it have a limited amount of ammo, it would need to hit a lot harder.

The plasma pistol was already amazing before the latest buff. If any changes need to be made, the pistol should just be reverted back to its former form.

Also, I understand the frustration of the fireteam when they play against a predator using this weapon. A good fireteam should be able to pinpoint where the shots are coming from and melt the predator though.

Maybe it isn’t the weapon but how people use it maybe that makes people call it for a nerf. It takes 4 direct shots to down a ft member alright? So how I use it is I down a dude, cloak and use them as bait, while they revive kill the second dude and use them as bait till the third comes or if they ditch them then I shoot them to death without worrying about claims. I guess I’m toxic when I use it but it’s a interesting weapon to decide if it needs tweaking or not

Plus the more precise you are, the deadlier the weapon is

Its dark as fuck and shit but around 28 seconds he uses it.

Lore and story wise these things have crazy range and damage but for a game? Give me a short range shotty like that.

Also AVPR show us how scary a predator could be when not hunting because remember guys, wolf was here to clean up the mess, not hunting.

Wherever the little red dot goes, plasma pistol will consider going bang.

I think pp is in a good place. The only Predator weapon with truly limited ammo is the net gun.

The others are all pretty much energy related or the ammo can be recovered.

The DPS is still much lower than bow, and it is much louder and inaccurate most of the time at any amount of range.

The blast often breaks into 3 particles and splits the damage by 1/3 per particle that hits.

I could see reloading it draw some of Predator’s main enery, so you would only have the 6 shots while over loaded.

I have been using pp since 1.06 I think. I already liked it but it was more of a joke/gimmick until they buffed it. Now it is in a good place.
