They aren’t planned years in advance. Patches and mostly all DLC is done in weeks to months depending dlc
… yes obviously as a WoW refugee i literally konw that for online games at least for live service titles such as WoW the devs kinda pick what they do during a dev cycle WoW itself is NOTRORIUS for only ever doing large scoping balancing during expansion development so if your class ends up sucking fat dongers on release all you’ll ever get is small % increases that doesn’t actually fix the way your class plays instead of any material changes such as resource management alterations new abilities/passives or altering current ones to flow properly during the new expansions powersystem
it sucks and it’s what i have to deal with
but i know not all online games devs do an on/off season style devlopment
and i expect better from companies that are smaller as they tend to be quicker in response time as that’s the advantage of small companies they have less resources sure but there employees need less permissions to do things unlike large corps like acti-blizzard

Honestly idk why everyone think the plasma caster needs a lock on feature. Sure it’s in the movies but damn it’s be too op imo. I main the caster as a pred and I personally feel I would dismantle teams too easily with an aim assist/lock on. Using Caster just takes a little practice to become efficient.
