If the captain is killed and you pick up the item before the mission progresses to that part then the mission will be bugged and you can no longer finish it.
Hot tip for Predators is to kill him if you want a full 15 minute round. ;)

Bunch of missions that involve killing a npc on some maps have been getting bugged, just had the one on Airstrip that you have to kill the mole, and as soon as he dies no more objetives appear.
A lot of these kill NPC’s mission bugs out, happens frequently, mainly with Airstrip and Derailed.
