I honestly think reinforcements need to be taken completely out. This isn’t a post because I’m mad I’m actually not even playing the game at this moment just reading the forum. Reinforcements take away the tension. It just doesn’t make any action in the game meaningful especially as the predator and the fireteams mindset most of the time is just trying to run through things at least it is for me because I’ve always been reinforced and don’t worry about getting killed.
As for the predator every kill essentially means nothing if one member escapes and yeah you can equate that to “you just have to hunt better” but then I’ll say why hunt at all if they just keep coming? I’m actually gonna say that I think fireteam should have more players like 6 or 8. Again hear me out. This would definitely help match making but also make fireteam players feel like they have more of a chance even though let’s be honest focus firing with an assault rifle pretty much always puts predator in second wind :/ but with no reinforcements every kill the predator gets is MEANINGFUL. The work you put in to hunt and get that kill is worth it because that player is gone!
Also I saw someone earlier mention taking away the player names and icons off of the minimap for the fireteam. I think this is great because it would actually let the fireteam members get lost sometimes therefore allowing the predator to pick off stragglers. No one loses track of their team mates in this game so no one is ever alone enough to get picked off. It would also be extremely high risk to look for the predator in the trees because if you look for too long you might get left behind. This solves players focus spotting the trees.
The way I see it in the game and in this forum is everyone is trying to find the best way to answer all the imbalances this game has by essentially breaking the game’s mechanics. Ive even seen fireteams exploiting glitches to counter the predators strength and predator sitting back and just firing plasma caster because the fireteam can be too strong. Things are kinda outta wack on both sides but I see the things I mention as possible fixes. Thoughts?
