I’ve looked at a few, some are rock walls, others are roads. I think one is a waterfall.
I do think the temples are connected somehow.

Interesting. The new map is called excavation, I assume that each map takes place around excavation, and that all the ruins are of those ancient predator pyramids. It would explain the selection of location for stargazer and owlf, as well as the predators preference for hunting grounds. Perhaps you are correct that all of the jungles will be connected eventually into a large open map.

HOLY SHIT SLASHER i just had a fucking epiphany. Stargazer is a precursor to the colonial marines to some extent right? But they clearly have to be being funded by someone. Excavation isnt just any dig site. Id be willing to bet its a weyland yutani dig site. And stargazer are the pmc that they hired to do the musclework

That would be interesting to see if they would all be jigasawed together in final map…for a different type of open world experience. If they can optimize it as such.

Hell, pred tech could be the thing that accelerates mankind into a space age. Leading to the events of the alien films (i know they arent directly connected, but even a loose tie is dank)

Side note. Id love to be able to play as a colonial marine in this game. Even if it doesnt make sense lore wise. Fighting pred with a smart gun or a pulse rifle would be fucking epic sauce.
The origin of the symbol, so yeah I’d say they are connected. Not long after W-Y merge they actually take over the Colonial Marines.
STGZ at this point is being funded by corporate interests who want alien tech. Weyland Industry’s has had at least one encounter with them and Yutani has bought the tech from the government. They are rival corporations at this point with different interests but both are likely funding STGZ, to be honest I was hoping Weyland would be an OWLF ally and Yutani would be more STGZ leaning. Yutani is interested in weapons at this point and I’d like to see that reflected in a weapon.

As for the interconnected maps, if anyone wants to drop them in an art program and see if they can line them up using the flat edges. I’m sure we’d all l like to see it and speculate.

That’s my hope. Drop 13 people in 5 maps that are connected, 2 Pred’s and see who lives longest.
Pred’s can use ship for fast travel between spawns on the big map.
