HIDING THE PLAYER PLATFORM ICON: DO IT!

Do you think that this might be needed now? I mean, doesn’t the icon anticipate some form of behavior change? What if everyone basically never saw what each other was using?

Between PS4 and PS5 we are getting some extreme changes in play style.
and whats was the point of it any way?
We had people who just wanted to turn off crossplay but it was mainly because by doing so it decreased time waiting in queues but there is no basis for this asides from superstition now.
I get that all platforms behave with subtle lag at the worst times, but ideally there shouldnt be 95 % of the time.
Servers in your own country and cities should have exactly the same ping times between platforms.

I mean its not like there is a nintendo switch server people use which nobody plays on and they probably have limited capacity before it gets bogged down.

The major platforms might use server capacity to match each other because its in use all the time.

I always stated game should have crossplay forced and platform icons be gone.

All the psn folk saying PC had advantages and was unfair have been proven wrong repeatedly. Numerous people, including myself, have shown live on stream how playing with high graphics, 30fps and a controller does not have much of an impact in one’s gameplay. We have PSN players who transitioned to PC in aims to improve and didn’t improve much if at all.

Yep. Console gamers transitioning from controller to mouse is an acquired skill in itself, and isn’t guaranteed to meet their expectations.

However, as a former PC gamer, I knew my gameplay was gonna take a dump switching to XBOX. There’s just no comparision, from mouse to controller. All this thumbstick nonsense is an utter pisstake tbh.😂

Oh I thought hide player icon meant can’t tell what class your using so you can’t know what either team strategy is using, in my opinion matches need to be longer and Fireteam should choose whatever time to exfoliate

just scrub hard, you’ll get over the acne

It requires getting used to it. I have no problem switching back and forth, and while, granted, I aim “easier” with K&M, I don’t find the difference to be that significant and it just takes me a while to get used to play with controller again.

That being said, I play most games with controller and only FPS with K&M, so my hands and fingers are used to it

i would hate to picture what your fingers look like. id post a photo of mangled fingers but i’d rather not.
You have special kind of mangled fingers. You enjoy it. Most people might don’t want to.

With FPS I’d prefer K&M if it was available to me on console. So that leaves me with a controller, and fighting games I have a proper fightstick for that authentic fighting arcade experience.

i got one too. but i really hate playing sf on it. can’t do fireballls without accidentally going over to that jump position. it could be just the game though.

It’s a simple hardware fix, getting in the way of your gameplay. You can swap out to the proper restrictor gate that works best for you, and you’ll get a better feel of those simple 1/4 circles. It’s located inside the base of the stick itself:

We’ve gone off on a tangent here, but I hope this helps.

I used to build arcade machines.

I tried a fight stick but without a cabinet and the weight/angle that a proper cabinet provides, it just doesn’t feel right. I tried setting it up in a coffee table, in my lap, in my desk, ended up selling it.

I understand the differences in feel from a cabinet, but for me it’s still far better than playing fighting games on a thumbstick controller.

yeah i did research on it too. its undeniably a must to replace parts but thats whats the problem. Then I thought about going to use the magnetic ones that PS controllers use…then I said…fuck it. This shit although simple, is getting harder and harder to get.

There are kits i can buy to just replace the joy stick…then i need to open it up and for what? I just play literally casually and since its such a niche market I will literally never buy fighting games just for this as I just play for 15 minutes tops at a time.

What a drag.

I recall the arcade machines actually had more articulation but I’m sure that was up to the licensors of the machines themselves who built them.
They were so good back in the day.
These days, the only games that i can play are TMNT Shredders rev.

The PS thumbstick controlller actually has a HUGE range of articulation. You can do Fireballs all day long on it but its hard on the thumbs.

they use a whole different system than the analog. So…i mean thats why i mentioned my old mayflash fighting stick makes me jump whenever i try to do fireballs on it so casually. 5 degress over and you’re hopping around. Its such nonsense.

This is Off- topic but its such a missed opportunity to make gaming more fun.

There is a weirder alternative from PS5 where are the controllers are buttons. 4 buttons for the UDLF joy and 8 for all the keys. It looks daft but after trying a configuration where I put all my directions onto button presses, it has precision but its awkward. Not the arcade experience people are looking for IMHO. It is essentially a big buttoned WASD .

I hate PS controllers. I prefer xbox\nintendo assymetrical design.

I also have a steam controller which I consider to be the best\worst controller of its time. Best, because the features it had at the time it was released was simply above any other controller out there, and worst because the design makes it very uncomfortable to be used in place of a “normal” controller. Now is kinda pointless when other controllers have paddles, gyro, touchpad, etc.

I still play Killer Instinct: Anniversary Edition a lot, since the custom lobbies are still busy, and this is the smoothest running game I’ve experienced on crossplay. Their combo system without using combo assist is far more advanced than SF6, requiring more finesse that’ll make your thumbs sore after one match. Some people can tolerate it on a controller, but not me. Fightsticks are a must-have, if you’re playing an overtime session in a lobby.

lol I meant exfiltrate 😂

you get rid of those dead skins cells. and you go talk to girls one day, you degenerate.
