He lost the vote. Most of them disagree with him, while passionately argued, it was mostly false equivalencies and emotional appeals. A bit of a slippery slope argument tossed in for good measure.
Trump’s current status as a private citizen is irrelevant to whether or not the trial happens. Congress is a machine it takes time to churn through things…
Don’t think he’ll be banned from running again, unless something damning is revealed before then.

I though so too. I don’t know the conditions that he eluded to, but it sounded more of a passionate plea than evoking a law.
But, i don’t necessarily disagree with the sentiment. There is tension still between folks and this may only reignite it.
On the other hand, if Trump did commit s crime, he should be tried in a somewhat neutral setting and not by his haters and friends/associates. Some of these people are pretty lowly when it comes to morals so it doesn’t seem fair

I’m not sure you’re familiar with Rand Paul but…he’s as legitimate a man of principle as it gets. He’s like the Bernie of libertarians.
He also doesn’t open his mouth unless he knows he’s right. It’s been a slow moving thing now for the left to change the definition of things and move the bar along the way to their goal.

Contrary to common belief working with someone you don’t like/agree with is possible without compromising your own beliefs. Particularly when you remain consistent to your beliefs and continue to work towards them.
Rand Paul has done just that. Consistently fought for his beliefs and remained true to his views on everything. Which, if you actually listen to, are incredibly reasonable and in line with classic liberal ideology and fiscally conservative.
The phrase classical liberal just means, Republican.
