Hmm Can someone please explain what’s wrong with Predator

Mind you that’s Berserker equipped with “FEARLESS”/extra melee damage and “Impenetrable”
Why isn’t this human downed and WTF happened to Predators health

Regardless of your perks, you shouldn’t rush in as Berserker with Elder Sword and expect easy Wins if the Fireteam has more than half a brain cell. They most likely had some combination of Knife DMG or Pred DMG Perks.

You were parried, and then you got lit up by his teammates, and his stabs.

ok easy first of all the moment the FT started run you shoulda backed off if you knew more FT were alive

2nd that’s parrying for you and he probably had melee dmg up

3rd right at the end their another FT showed up i couldn’t tell how many more but he looked like a assault
so that was yautja’s bane and some automatic weapons which = death for close range predators so that’s your fault
currently pure melee predators are COMPLETLY unviable due to dmg output of the automatic weapons and high hp totals supports/assaults/dutch’s have getting in melee is a risk on suicide when if they just Aim down sights and unload on you predator will die first unless they miss like 10 shots every single time against these guns no matter what melee weapon you use unless you chucking your spear/disc but even then that’s a risk

don’t believe me? well sadly i have people i’ve played FT with on this very forum who have seen me do this to predators now usually on eldersword both the FT and pred get downed at the same time but still

You chased waaaayyyyyy out of position. you lost the element of surprise, and then lost all bearings of escaping and where the FT was. Nothing’s wrong with the Predator. something is wrong with your play style

Good guns ~2 people shooting at you and your ambush was cringe.

Impenetrable doesn’t make you a “tank” because there’s no such thing it just increases the room for error and lets you greed slightly more for some extra hits in melee range.

also when you parry the predator it takes off health from the predator… that combined with the gunning your health drops quicker then a race cars leaking fuel tank.

It wasn’t about expectations of an easy win.
If anything I expected that 1 player to be downed that got hit with a sword at least 7 times yes with a perk. Also I guess I should expect someone to jump off a cliff, heal and run like usain bolt at the same time lol

well first of all you didnt’ hit him more than 4 times with any swing besides the first 2
which isn’t more than 150 dmg anyway at least not with the first 2 hits
for the sword to do good dmg you have to land the full combo which does more than 190 dmg the first 2 hits only do like 40 or so so at most you did like 110 dmg which assault has 150 hp so yeah plus he syringed which is 100hp heal over 3 seconds or so

the moral is melee is bad you shouldn’t use it as your main strat your main way of downing people should be shooting them with something melee is for one swipe jump and run away to reposition for another swing or shot

All great points from everyone, I’ll take note and whip up another strategy that’s simple.
I guess my point and frustration was how did the one FT player survive that? I can live with the loss but how was he not downed?
Yes I forced it, over Pursued, tunnel vision etc I get that but he should not have been invincible, hit with a sword at least 7 times by berserker with extra damage perk hmm ok…

Assault and support are tanky asf. That and there are certain parts of melee combos that do most of the damage. Like with combistick its the third swing, so if im playing fireteam I dont worry about the second swing and just prep to parry the third.
With sword the intial lunge is actually really strong because its two hits, so its probably better to hit and run and stab them in the back with that first strike over and over. The combo takes too long and the flourish in the middle gives them time to parry.
