Honest Opinions About the Gladiator DLC?

So my opinions on the DLC, the class itself is exactly how Berserker or Viking are when it comes to Stamina and Energy. However the health feels pretty good, as for his weapon like the Trident it definitely feels underwhelming. Maybe mixing it with another class could do it some justice, but as of now using traps and nets definitely help the class with the Trident.

The Trident itself I was sad to see be a weaker version of the Combi-stick with not as much satisfaction when it comes to the melee, its execution. Iā€™m not sure it doesnā€™t bring me much joy I guess, so it being the cheapest of all the DLCā€™s is justified.

Details of the class however are amazing, as someone who loves all things history, the details put in to be a mix of both Yautja and Human are beautifully done.

To be very blunt & simple, I think itā€™s shit.

Heā€™s quite literally just Berserker except he is slightly faster & has slightly better stamina, and has better specialisations. He has the same health, same gear, same perk points, same energy as Berserker. He even deals the same amount of passive melee damage increase. He even has the exact same body model as Berserker.

Itā€™s probably the laziest DLC they have ever made. The Trident is also extremely uninventive. I havenā€™t tried it yet myself so I canā€™t comment further on it, but itā€™s still immensely underwhelming & lazy from what Iā€™ve seen from other peopleā€™s gameplay.

As for the design & lore of this Gladiator Predator, he has got to be arguably the worst yet. His design & lore can be summed up with one sentence ā€œthis Yautja became captivated by the warriorsā€™ ferocity, adapting their tactics and armor to mirror the might of his preyā€. So in other words, heā€™s literally just a Predator cosplaying a human gladiator. The design looks way too human aswell, the biomask looks like literally nothing a Predator would ever wear. It looks like the helmet of a human gladiator, which is obviously the cheap uninspired bullshit they were going with. He needs to be heavily customised in-game to look decent otherwise he just looks stupid to me.

I would much rather have Tracker Predator or Fugitive Predator added any day.

This. They couldā€™ve innovated some with him, make him similar to Samurai in terms of melee viability with reduced incoming knife damage or even fucking parry immunity lmao. I mean itā€™s not like melee is viable against skilled premades anyway so why not.

I think heā€™s fun, I love Berserker but everything is fun against spuds. Same what you said tho, just another uninspired cash grab. I was looking forward to this one

I would have thought they would have put out Fugitive Predator by now. I mean he is the cooler pred in the predator film yet we got the ones that were ā€˜cutā€™ from the film? Why?

His face is pretty much 87 JH and his armour is still the coolest and more modern of all of them.
I suppose Emissary comes with the Fugitive mask but its not the same.

There isnā€™t a day that goes by that I and others wish to get the Tracker Pred, but if we get him WE NEEEEEED HIS PREDHOUNDS!

The trident is crap. It basically forces you to get close to do a melee combo, throw, melee combo, throw, melee combo, throw. In theory sounds great, in practice is shit because the damage is too low. You are better off using the combistick with that approach. It does look good though. Would have preferred it as a skin variant for the combi.

As for the class, is 1500 HP, didnā€™t find any passive damage resistance other than the ones all other predator classes have. People tend to have placebo effects on damage because they are used to play less tanky classes.

Youā€™re also forced to be stationary for a second after throwing each Trident so it leaves you vulnerable anyway.

The only strategy with the trident is tossing it after an FT gets a revive from a team mate (judging from the video) but then so is the other one too just that trident sucks at everything else.
Hard pass.

Just pointing out

Berzerker, Viking, Scar, Celtic, Chopper and Gladiator ā€¦ ALL use the same Berzerker body model. The plasma caster, armor plates and cosmetics may change slightly, but they essentially use the same body

Yep. Wolf also uses the same body model as the Hunter, and the Super Predators (Mr Black & Falconer) have the body model of the Scout, and thatā€™s just to name a few examples. Illfonic are so lazy itā€™s almost impressive.
