How do you effectively use the Smart Disc?

I get the idea. Remote controlled disc. Fly it at your enemy and steer. Since there’s no “practice range” or anything in this game, I just dropped into a match and spent 2-3 minutes as Pred off in a corner of the map just practicing throwing the thing to see how it works.

My issue is, I see you can “speed it up” by holding the button/key but…it doesn’t seem to go much faster. Also, it seems to sputter out after a fairly short range. Short enough that I wonder if it would even work from treetop to ground level in most situations.

Help me understand how this thing works and if it’s worth trying to bring into a match.

The “speed up” is basically just a damage boost and the longer you have it sped up the more damage it will do when it hits someone. It’s capable of one shotting if it didn’t fly at the speed of a snail.

Edit: as soon as you hit someone you can try to recall it and it might hit them again on the way back to you if you are lined up right.

I would say currently you cant it is too slow, its spotted in flight and they run away. Sometimes you get lucky try hiding be hind a building and throwing it around corners

I was wondering about the speed. I saw the Pred throw it in one of my matches earlier and it just kinda floated toward us and the plop hit the ground like a limp noodle. It doesn’t help that it’s advertised by a big, blue trail as it flies. Kinda hard to miss. Maybe if it was harder to see…

I guess it’s not worth using in its current state, generally. Hope it gets a buff of some kind. The idea is neat.

If you wanna play a server on your own to test things out, start up a private match, choose map/character and enter the game, you don’t need anyone else to join, just hit ready it’ll count down. (I know this works on PC, dunno bout ps4 tho)

Thanks. I’m on PC. I’ll try that out. Maybe I can mutilate some AI.
