How do you prevent the Predator to nuke himself?

So what options do you have when you down the Predator?

I only see 2. Either shoot every single bullet or run away.
I mean what mechanic is there to prevent him for activating the nuke!?
Do you need to be close and shoot a certain area like his hand or head
or is it just pure luck and how much MORE damage you do after he is on his knees!?
You dont get any info anywhere is all just pure subjective experience!

If he activates it, shot him to ragdoll his body and just defuse the arm computer with a simple minigame.
It is extremely easy if he dies in front of you and doesn’t try to get into unreachable areas for FTs.
