How does getting the Predator in Clash work?

I don’t feel like waiting to play Hunt so I like to play as pred in Clash for some quick games. Every time I play and get to the point first it seems that I get the option to become the pred first so I was wondering how the game chooses who can be the predator.

Most likely randomized for each team when they start getting kills/ chooses people with higher kills? Idk

I would say like the ft with the most kills and I also believe u killing the predator will give u the opportunity to play as the predator too
