Ok, if you’ve ever listened to the Dutch tapes, you might remember how he said stuff about letting scientists experiment on him with the predator’s blood. He eventually says it stops his cells from aging, which would explain why he’s not retired, but what if it also explained the 87 version of Dutch? In the tapes he also says, and I quote, “I’m fighting like a man in his forties!”. I have done the math, and Dutch would be in his forties in the first movie, 42 to be exact. I feel like that line wasn’t a coincidence, because if his cells stopped aging, I feel like Illfonic could totally say they REVERSED aging, back to his forties. Plus, it would just be plain weird to see young Dutch in 2025 if this isn’t even partially the case, because it would CERTAINLY not be canon. I know they didn’t explain how CH or JH are still alive, but it would be more believable for a predator who died to be in the game, and I can just hear those few people who are saying to themselves, “WELL HOW WOULD IT BE MORE BELIEVABLE FOR DUTCH TO BE REVERSED TO FORTY?”, and the answer is, what options do they have for new Predators other than less known comic book Predators? Every predator in the movies has DIED, and I don’t think Illfonic could come up with an original predator for every DLC they make. Dutch is still alive, but he’s eighty years old. It wouldn’t make sense for a character that is still alive to suddenly be forty years younger overnight. They set up the “not aging anymore” thing, I don’t doubt they could branch it out to a “reversed aging” thing. But then again it’s not believable for there to be four Dutches in the same match, but that’s an inevitable occurrence anytime you release DLC thats a specific character, not just a class. So, correct me if I’m wrong on anything, and please don’t argue in the replies, I just want to voice an idea for how they could set 87 Dutch up.
How I feel 87 Dutch might be canon in the game’s universe.
I don’t really think they have to explain why 87 Dutch would be in Hunting Grounds. Same reason why Jungle Hunter, City Hunter, Greyback, and Alpha are in the game. They’re established characters.
Just slap on the good old multiverse label and your good.
IMHO, i’m taking each DLC and new character skin as if their assets would be in the single player.What that story may be would probably follow the events described in Stalking Shadows. We know the jist of what happened in each year those chapters were set in, we just don’t know many details other than maybe the most important moments. So 87 Dutch may be necessary to slowly merge to 2025 and get all those years in between through graphic manipulation. At least now we have the full knowledge of how far back in time they want to develop the game settings in.
ANd that goes the same for the important Predators featured in the game. Where Alpha Predator comes in, i don’t know. But looks interesting…its a shame we don’t know if illfonic is making the single player. Because that is not their thang. Unless of course some other team is making it in secret and feeding Illfonic assets to use.
There is no risk of creating temporal paradoxes that could cause a tear in time space causing the end of the world if there is a dutch 2025 and a dutch 87 in the same game ?
Orrr its not canon and the only thing canon in this game are tapes.
