Adding to what @Agent47 said right above my reply here @Kycer, Cover is key. But Cover from your Squad is part of it: Regardless of playing as the Predator or a Fireteam Member, movement is paramount. If you’re sitting still, running in straight lines or essentially making yourself stationary in any shape or form, you’re an easier target.
When going on the Defensive once you hear the Predator’s Sound Cues, stick closer to varied Cover. A solid example would be the Stargazer Outpost on the top left side of Derailed: If you hang out by the Sniper Perch or in the larger Complex, you can jump up or down, or bail using the stairs so the Predator now has to chase you, all with decent Cover. If you hear the Net Gun fire, you already have some options. And if it hits you, you have a little wiggle room to strafe/move around without being an open Target.
I ran against a Predator today who had Trapper equipped and the extra time he had worked to his advantage. Thankfully I was revived by a proactive Squadmate.
