How to counter Net + Melee Zerkers?

I’ve gone against this type of predators few times so far… but every time I just felt helpless… once they net me I just know I’m already dead because I play with potato FTs who can’t shoot shit most of the time.

So I guess what I’m saying is… is there any tip or counter to this play style?

Find a team that can cover you. That’s really the only option. Zerkers are slow, large targets, all it takes is two FT members to focus him and they’ll drop. Best bet is when u know he’s in the area, try and have 3 FT members keeping watch while one player does objectives. That way if he comes in, nets u, you’ll have two teammates focus fire him. He’ll go down. Fast. But yea easier said than done with the massive amount of potato FT members out there.

Adding to what @Agent47 said right above my reply here @Kycer, Cover is key. But Cover from your Squad is part of it: Regardless of playing as the Predator or a Fireteam Member, movement is paramount. If you’re sitting still, running in straight lines or essentially making yourself stationary in any shape or form, you’re an easier target.

When going on the Defensive once you hear the Predator’s Sound Cues, stick closer to varied Cover. A solid example would be the Stargazer Outpost on the top left side of Derailed: If you hang out by the Sniper Perch or in the larger Complex, you can jump up or down, or bail using the stairs so the Predator now has to chase you, all with decent Cover. If you hear the Net Gun fire, you already have some options. And if it hits you, you have a little wiggle room to strafe/move around without being an open Target.

I ran against a Predator today who had Trapper equipped and the extra time he had worked to his advantage. Thankfully I was revived by a proactive Squadmate.

Guns. Lots of guns.

Make sure u have a tight team that has your back we just faced one of these preds and every time I was caught instead of focusing on getting out I ran as fast as possible towards my team mates and they lit the pred up as I got down the pred quickly hit second wind

What I have found to be surprisingly useful when netted is when the Predator rushes you start running in as tight of a circle around them as you can. A lot of times Predators aren’t prepared for that and overswing several times and miss and you can actually escape the net before they down if you with a respectable degree of reliability. Won’t always work of course but it’s a lot better than just getting pounded every time. Along with that if you know they have a net gun strafe side to side a lot because it can be pretty easy to miss with the net gun and the more shots they waste the better off you are.

Once upon a time you could shoot nets out of the air, and nets were balanced. Illfonic decided to take that counter away without reducing the ammo or any other nerf, and they became too strong in open areas. If you have bad teammates that won’t cut the net off of you, then your only option is to keep anything between you and the predator. A box, a table, a small tree, steel beams, a doorway, etc. otherwise, yeah, getting trapped in the net is somewhat of a death sentence, because you’re slow and can’t use stims.

In avp and pred 2 the only times we seen the net gun u couldn’t cut it with a knife, within 50 seconds it would be tight enough to kill you cutting through your entire body, and u couldn’t break out of it with shear force

As a zerk main who runs trapper and netgun, there is nothing any one ft can do to avoid being killed and claimed.

That said, like mentioned earlier you cant be by yourself. There is no rambo in team. Good fireteam will always know where their teammates are. Even if you roll with one friend, you’ll stand a chance at not getting claimed.
