Maybe I’m high but I’ve never even felt threatened with Hunter, using elder I have to sweat it out a bit sometimes. Super fun to use cause of the extra stamina (and cause it’s the fookin elder Predator). But I feel Hunter is just stronger

Yeah I’ve been playing elder since I got him he’s fun and I’m enjoying having to use my brain a tiny bit instead of just shatting on people with Hunter.
Hunter with the extra health and movement speed is what saves you when it comes to close encounters, so that’s why it’s still the best. I notice also the energy regeneration is slow on the Elder so I gotta use Modified Reserve if I plan on using the Plasma Caster.
Yeah that extra health is nice. It’s like, very noticeable lol. Like 100% Hunter is the pinnacle if anything is ever made that’s just objectively better it would be flat out overpowered
Thing is though we don’t know what future gear we’ll get and extra slots could be a tipping point.

I feel we need like a ton more gear. Actually make our experience feel a little more unique game to game. Tracking darts, the throwing star, and I think some kinda stim would be cool like he injects it and for a few seconds he gets extra stamina. I don’t know just more shit.
Elder is just better hunter, more gear, MORE STAMINA (delicious) yes sligthly less health and speed but you can’t barely notice the difference
You mean this game would play very different each match if it had more content? More options than 2 variations of the same builds (excluding perks)? Yes.
We are lacking actual differences between Predators. The differences are so small most players play it safe. Beserkers are great for learning to play Predator, but drop hard facing competent teams. Once they start to chase you, you are basically fucked (right now). Scout gameplay is basically leaping till everyone calls their doctor to treat their whiplash. Really unfun to play against since the players playing them either jump in and try to melee a 4 player full health team, or they play as it was designed, and stalk at range, bouncing around like no tomorrow (bunny hopping Scouts are also becoming more common).
But you can also play similar to scout, with more hp, as a Hunter. You get more gadgets, you don’t have talent points that are unused (as compared to Scout).
I’m truly lacking unique passives that make all (now 4) classes stand out by themselves.
Why don’t we have perks that shut our predators up? To stop singing fucking songs of war while trying to be stealthy (and only when stealthy…). Why not implement this into the Hunter (say) naturally. Make the Scouts cloak 50% (maybe even 100%) more effective while crouch-moving while cloaked (but still make noise). Why doesn’t the Beserker have a unique skill except 5% more melee damage, which is kinda bad… it “might” down people with one hit less. But you are 30% easier to hit, and can’t escape. You don’t have enough energy to cloak, stalk and shoot at range (that much).
And the Elder is great on paper, but that 100hp drop? It matters, it’s exactly the HP you have left as a Hunter when you barely escape a nasty encounter.
Berserker have passive damage increase for all mellee attacks. +10% if compare to Hunter attacks. 1.10 patch nerfed it a bit, but it still higher
Yes, it went down from 10% to ~5%.
Let me explain how I look at it:
5% is 1/20. So if you are hitting something with a large health-pool 20 times normally before it dies, now it will basically die in 19 hits.
10% is 1/10. So if you hit a target 20 times normally, now it only takes 18.
So if you are a Predator and hit your targets 4-6 times? It will not consistently be a noticable difference. Sure some players will go down where they would have walked with 1-10 hp left… but forcing a heal can be better than a revive at times.
Percentual damage increases are really strong when you are facing a target with a large health pool (making Yautja’s Bane great) because your 1000 damage will turn into 1100 with 10% increase. The 10% will always work playing FT.
But if you are the powerhouse and you face very tiny humans with 10-15% of your entire healthpool…? Yeah, 5% extra damage will not cut it. They literally die too fast.
Which means:
Beserkers need a different passive.
What could the berserker get though? As it stands the zerker has the worst stamina & energy regeneration but the most health and gear slots. He could probably get a passive that allows him to carry one more gear or a 5-10% damage reduction the closer he is.
I’m probably wrong in this but personally the way the berserker is right now I don’t feel he should be melee oriented since he lacks the stamina to get in a few melee hits and run away, if they stay around to melee they can take serious damage from other FT and be easily chased.
The Hunter is King, well Rounded and all the Right stats.
I run my hunter more range and less melee. I like to stalk and harass the Ft with caster shots. Like to draw the match out make them hurt. Try not to let them get the reinforcements, I just like to toy with them making them think they are safe. Then while they are making a dash for the chopper I hit them the good ole leap tactic with the Handheld and then use the bow for the pick ups.
I utilize my motion sensors and audio decoys perfectly so they can not be destroyed or detected as a audio decoy by the ft. I love watching them be frantic and looking in all directions. Makes me chuckle, most of the match I’m not even cloaked just hidden well enough to get my scans in and be hidden by the noise of my decoys. I try to set alarms off at the start of the match.
My perk load out is a ranged health mix up. So dithered lenses makes it harder for the ft to pick up my laser from my mask so no pot shots for them. But in case they hit my mask I have Bio Protection for the extra mask health. (The mask Health is now equal to the Predators) So I don’t lose my mask during the battles that occur. Then my final perk is Down Range, which Helps the harassment and the helps with the damage for the Handheld and Bow.

Perks.: Dithered Lenses, Bio Protection, Down Range
gear: Health, Audio Decoys, Motion Sensors.

Nothing wrong with him being melee oriented but the issue is that melee combos are bad and never worth it if you can just play ranged for safer AND more consistent damage.
Alternatively if melee is too good to the point of braindead ease you just get a pred brainlessly mashing the melee button.
Melee system needs a rework all around. Not asking for a For Honor counter parry system but pred would atleast need some form of heavy attack. Then just give zerk a buff to his heavy attacks or super armor frames or w/e
Also if the ft put focus on missions (without waiting for pred to have some fun like we always do as death squad) you can just escape with the chopper in 4 minutes, thats why scout with leap and bow is not viable against good team (not a good pressure class). No hp, no advantage from the perk point (as you said) and no passive ability. A good tatctic to secure a kill (99% of the time works) is bow slam (just an example, there are a lot of tactics) , if you do that with the hunter you kill the sniper of the ft and get away with some hp less, with the scout and the elder is not viable. The only tatctic viable with scout in my opinion is spear thow, but is not a safe tactic because no one is consistent with spear throw due to the weird aim mechanic (and slow) and to the fact that YOU HAVE TO DO AN HEADSHOT to be able to kill some on agaisnt good team.
Right now all Predator range weapons are viable. The melee not so much.
