Hunting grounds

I was expecting a game with the title predator hunting grounds would actually try to get the predator hunting part right before going to a straight team v.s team capture point mode. Sure it’s fun, but it’s also weird.

Fast paced high octane gameplay is really awesome, but it’s not hunting. Racing the fireteam to the objective in hunt mode is not really hunting either. It kind of is, but it also kind of isn’t.

I honestly think illfonic should really look at the hunting part of the game. Now that you’ve got this fast paced mode illfonic can slooooow down the hunting mode. Really add atmosphere to the hunt. Remove the time limit, and the short objectives. Give the fireteam tools to set traps like in the first movie. Allow the fireteam to ignore the objectives hunt the pred instead.

Really polish hunt mode.

FT can already do this part. In fact, they have a whole 10 minutes before they’re pressed for time and as you can see they’d just opt to camp the warehouse on Derailed or stand at the map edge on backwater tbagging medkits.

There has to be some kind of objective, if they just ignore it there is no game or incentive to not just stand around in a building. Its just a staring contest.

Well they really can’t wait ten minutes, and then go do the objective in the last 5. Not with a competent predator anyway.

And you can kill them within the first 5 minutes just with splash dmg from your shoulder cannon. If not kill at least force them out to find more health.

Honestly camping isn’t a big deal unless it’s an exploit spot on the map that only the fireteam can access.

A competent FT doesn’t even need to do the objective. You can actively hunt the predator already, objectives are fluff and take 5-7 mins. It’s a “win condition” but also completely optional as missions don’t have fail conditions.

You haven’t ran into enough teams that just A. Sit on the warehouse roof or b. Just stand in a large building and block the doorways as soon as pred walks in. Even the downed player will bodyblock the doorway.

Caster doesn’t reach and there’s a bunch of buildings with no windows so enjoy that. Eventually the pred will run in, get bodyblocked and die or both will just stare at eachother until the time runs out which isn’t a game its just a complete waste of 15 minutes as long as there are two people willing to sit there forever. Objectives are necessary period. It’s a social experiment that you will not win.

Sitting on the warehouse roof just makes you an easy target, and blocking doorways in a larg building makes the shoulder cannon, and smart disc shine. The predator is not helpless with no choice but to have a starring contest.

You don’t stand in the doorway. You sit on top of the desks and listen to music afk while you wait for the pred to walk in. Plenty of space way outside the AOE radius and pls try to throw your disc in there and feel free to come pick it up. Two story building is best for this but the medical lab is also great. You only block the doorway after the pred gets bored and runs in if he hasnt ragequit already lol. Ez weekly challenges and quick way to anger people by refusing to play the game.
People are assholes in “no rules” settings, sandbox gameplay in an asyim literally doesn’t work but ill let you figure it out.

You send a plasma round thru the door into the building Doing dmg even if it’s not a direct hit, Or a smart disc, You can leap slame, Throw your combi stick thru a window, etc.

But I think I’m done with you. You seem to resort to “you don’t understand anything learn the game” insults rather quickly. As if that’s a valid point or something.

No one insulted you. I was with you until the last couple sentences and then you lost me completely. I’m just asking how removing objectives and timers and everyone just sitting in a unreal engine sandbox is polishing hunt mode lol.

And hunting is usually time consuming, and requires patience irl, and in the pred universe also. Not everyone would be camping, because everyone has a different play style.

And dismissing someones argument with “I’ll let you figure it out” is an insult no matter how you slice it.

Longer would be nice, but I don’t think the player base would let that fly. So keep current missions, but remove the short ones that currently exist.

This translates extremely poorly to a video game, just using history as a reference. Hence the existence of timers in multiplayer games. Just to be clear, that’s NO timers? As in I can go crouch in a corner and make a smoothie no timers?

Absolutely everyone has asked for longer missions and something that’s not quick play at this point dw

I’m not saying to take the patience thing to the absolute extreme. Obviously there’s the risk of holding the game hostage. Somewhere in the middle would be nice though. Good to hear many others think missions are too short.

I honestly don’t care how illfonic does it, but a few new game mechanics for the fireteam with extra time for the pred would be a more enjoyable game for me personally. I’d hope others feel the same.
