Lol that honestly made my day.

You were definitely wiser than I, though bit of an age-discrepancy. 16 was the “absolutely fuck it” stage of my life. How are you meant to live for yourself if outside forces crumble you so easily?

So you think it’s offensive by using it at all?

Context, intent don’t matter?

Despite knowing that I was still a pretty edgy pissed off teen lmao.
I was extremely pissed off all the time.

Luckily I never did anything stupid.

The whole “er” and “a” thing with that word is something I can’t wrap my head around

I think it’s a disgrace but that’s just me

I don’t

Others do

Out of respect for them I don’t use it

That would help in some cases but trying to pull people out of what’s engraved into them isnt an easy feat.

Kind of if topic but for about a decade now I’ve believed of we could get the entire world to agree on some core things,
It would eliminate a huge percentage of needless violence, hatred, ignorance.

But with so many differing beliefs, opinions, ways of thinking, I could never think of a good way to do it.

A high reaching dream I know lol.

I’m confused, how did this thread derail this bad…I blame @Fire.

As someone who grew up around a lot of ghetto people I can tell you nigga is just the ghetto version of dude.

I get pissed off when people who didnt grow up around it try to tell me nigga is racist or bad.

Yes I called someone something with a backwards hard R.

I’m sorry.

It depends on the person. I think it’s easier to help change the minds of people that are relatively young. I have family members that are quite old and they are stuck in their ignorant ways. I’ve tried to talk some sense into them but they are a lost cause.

I grew up around it alright and live it

My dad was mixed race

I live in the ghetto

I even lived in South Central Los Angeles

IMO it makes light of the millions of murdered slaves and black americans

Well that’s on them and not your responsibility to cater to their perceived victimhood.

Again any sensible person gay or otherwise would not be offended by a quote from a movie, that even within the context of themovie was NOT used as a direct slur.

If they are offended by that then they seriously have some issues they need to work through

That’s one of those, power we give to it scenarios I was talking about.

I believe context is the most important part tho.
But for the most part this isnt any easy topic.

How much you guys wanna bet that a couple of you will banned within the next hour or two regardless of context.

Look up pictures of lynchings from the 60’s

Maybe you will reevaluate

I would hope so

They used nigga then too

As they swung from the trees

Nigga is an accented way of saying it the other way it’s unintentional

Unless by some white bread cracker named Skylar living in Simi Valley trying to appropriate it

Bet lol

I just find the word “nigga” so divisive and I feel like it’s one of the main reasons why there’s still some racial tensions between the White and Black communities.

I’m one of the people that think either everyone should say “nigga” or no one should. To say that only White people should not say “nigga” is kinda racist and discriminatory in itself.
