I’m confused

Depends on the black dude

Many hold this sentiment

Makes no difference to me what people say

I just think it diminishes the suffering endured

Show of hands here: who gives a fuck what the Klan thinks?

Anyone?

Didn’t think so.

I’m just providing the reasoning as to why people dont like the word nigga

I think MLK is turning in his grave

And all we’re saying is if someone wants to be offended by their singular perception of the word’s usage vs the context and intent of the person saying the word then they are foolish and not really listening or understanding.

No MLK is turning in his grave at his legacy being used as shield for the like of BLM riots and The Klan with Tan actively holding people against their will in their vehicles over the deaths of criminals.

Just doesn’t make sense to me

Drop the ER

add an A

Brand new word

Even though the ones who originated the term pronounced it the way it is currently used

This thread is going in my porn folder

It was pronounced that way as a vernacular variant. You know like “aren’t” vs “ain’t” Whites didn’t make a brand new word lol. Blacks took the “a” variant primarily in the Rap/Hip-Hop culture (which glorifies criminal behaviour btw) and turned it into a neutral positive term (only as long as a non-white uses it)

“Rules for thee, not for me.” The mantra of political correctness aka nonsensical hypocrisy

Ok

I saw this comparison being made on a Ted Talk and I think it bears repeating here.

I call my wife “baby”. Because I call my wife baby, does that mean you can? I mean, you can try, but I might break your fucking jaw.

My wife has decided that I’m entitled to give her a term of endearment. That doesn’t entitle you to. That’s not “equality”, that’s you making an assumption of entitlement.

Same with the “n-word”. I have friends that I refer to as such, that refer to me as such (I’m of White European descent, 3rd generation American) because we have that relationship.

It comes down to the relationship. Nothing entitles you to say that word except for your relationship with people that it could possibly offend.

I feel like you’re ignoring context, but also not at the same time.

Racism isn’t just racial slurs or walking around in a white robe.

Racism is a collection of systems designed to oppress non-white peoples, for example, the prison-industrial complex. Black people being arrested with greater frequency than whites for the same crimes, receiving harsher treatment by law enforcement (more likely to be shot or even killed during an arrest for a non-violent offense), being tried by a jury of twelve white people (what should be a jury of your peers), receiving harsher sentences for the same crimes committed by white, non-minority peoples and being given less access to reformatory services while incarcerated.

Racism is someone being turned down for a job because they have “ethnic hair”, an “ethnic name”, or having to change things about their appearance or traditional dress because certain organizations have dress codes to fit into what are customarily European social values.

Racism is being denied a bank loan that would be approved if the applicant were white. Racism is being pulled over because you’re driving a nice car that wouldn’t necessitate a second glance if the driver were white.

Sadly, you’re going to find a shit-ton of radical, far-right, racist people in Law Enforcement and the US Military.

I know this and I probably should’ve mentioned that
I’m not sure what the rates for black vs white arrests are in my area
