I ran a little experiment yesterday

I’ve been thinking, along with many others, that this forum represents a relatively small subset of this games player base. So we are probably more likely to play in organized teams with one another which means we’ll totally fuck up the predator most times.

And so we figured Illfonics goal was to balance around randoms whom, we assumed, were still getting stomped.

So yesterday I played 15 straight FT matches. Just wanted to see what would happen.

In 3 of them the predator blue screened after I parried him. That said, only in one of them did he have a chance of winning. It was just him and me at the end and he was badly hurt but I was out of gear. Was a great round and sad to see it end that way.

But let’s say he’d have won (and it would have been a hard fought win), the other 2 absolutely would have lost. They were getting crushed.

So that leaves the remaining 12 that didn’t crash. In EVERY SINGLE one of those games, we (random FT) melted him within 3-4 minutes.

He would engage either ranged or melee. Didn’t matter. With anti cloak gernades and frags we could flush him out if he was using range and lay down insane amounts of fire and damage.

I was running recon with double time thick skin and pig in shit. So when he ran to heal, he just couldn’t get away from me or see me. Finished him every single time (or a team mate running another fast class did).

Long story short: even in randoms if you have some decent players, Predator is probably still fucked unless he’s basically a day one player AND doesn’t encounter any game breaking bugs.

Very disappointing 🙁

I said it on a previous post. New players have zero chance of winning and no one wants to lose all the time. Older players who enjoy the challenge will get better. Then either they “rebalance” it and buff the pred making those Older players near unbeatable, or lose a great chunk of the player base before that because it’s boring bullying the pred.

Have to, have to, have to adjust the damage output of fireteam when they hotfix the bugs.

I think Illfonic needs to figure out what kind of game this should be. Is it an action shooter where both sides are equal? Or is it a survival horror game where one side is legitimately scared of the other?

Right now Predators are terrified of FT and their new abilities

for those who wanted PHG to be a horror game … to be scared

I hope they choose action shooter

Survival Horror only works for single player
