Instead of selecting whether you play predator or fire-team just launch a search for match and it randomly will put people into matches in any given role. Edit: this would ideally mean that 1 out of 10 matches you would get to play the Predator. The 1 out of 10 is arbitrary.

It seems like a good idea but you know most people will quit the second they realize they’re on the FT n not the predator.

Its a strange thing, why would you grind the Predator waiting 7-10 minutes for a game, and be under powered because you have no weapons/perks/gears? Because people are obsessive. bone headed.

If you played fireteam then u get a token thats says you get to skip to the front of the queue. so all those will be position1 in the queue and all those that didnt play fireteam last round are2nd in line. so it matchmakes out of pool 1, then once they have playedas pred they lose that token untill they play as fireteam again.
The matchmake then choses players from pool1 first and pool2 next.
Then to keep your priority you would have to play alternating fireteam, pred, fireteam pred, etc etc . you would still be in the same pool as everyone else who has played fireteam last so you wont instantly get it, but you are in front of those in pool2 who didnt play fireteam last.
no this isn’t a good idea you’ll end up with angry players like me who either quit cause i can’t guarantee i can play the game i want to play as i don’t find fireteam fun then we’ll all be angry. OR i have to waste your time and my time to play the game i want causing me to do this which i have done before if i’ve been on your FT and done this i am not sorry
when i play fireteam randoms i explicitly run all stealth perks on scout with a silenced smg and grenade launcher i run around the map mudded 100% of the time and pick up all the Veritanium stuff then wait for either my team to win the game or die if they all die off i kill myself via the grenade launcher
if this change happend i’d just be doing this more often ruining more peoples games
sadly the best way to deal with que times is to incentivize the players to play the fireteam more than the pred
the 2 easiest ways to do this 1 is fireteam earns more_____ which atm is just true fireteam usually earns more xp and more veritanium per game
2. fireteam is more fun/powerful to play which sadly is the hard thing to do i’d say they are more powerful than pred together but separate they have to be very good at the game to be better but are they fun for some people they might be but not me.

I know there’s a no preference thing but they could instead make an actual preference but I don’t think it would do much because you’d get into a FT game 1000 times over than you would as a predator
So what do you posit we do to help alleviate the que time issues?

I mean, right now they have both. Where you can select either, or no preference. Removing they entirely isn’t a great idea IMO.
The issue though is that there are really long wait ques for predator and this would allow for all to play in a timely manner.
It would also completely remove players being allowed to select what they queue for. People have their preferences and preferred side. There are other ways to mend the queue times other than just removing the ability to choose.
the best solution would be to add a server browser so you can start your own lobby and have others join it. that way everyone gets to choose and you won’t waste as much of your time searching and then being placed in an empty lobby.
if the problem truly is just that there aren’t enough ft players, then there’s really nothing you can do. i think another good way to alleviate wait times is to have the option to choose to stay in a lobby after the game ends, and have it randomly select who gets what.

who wants to play as FT? its baby’s first FPS. if anyone wants to spend their time as FT more power to them. I play it with the sound off in private matches to get veritanium. I don’t even know what the mission is I’m just holding F wherever I go. Its basic as F.
It is not up to us to solve the queuing system by compromising and putting in time with a shit game mode so we can RP predator for 10 minutes. The Predator experience is ok but it isn’t even worth that realistically. The current wait time is borderline not worth it even for me as a die hard fan.
I can let Illfonic off the hook for being a sub standard developer in a lot of ways but if they cant develop compelling gameplay for all aspects of their game that is on them not the community. If people don’t want to play FT already thats a development problem and the solution isnt going to be to force them to play as FT more.
Yup, that would definitely help. Maybe even potentially add bots to fill empty slots as well. Wouldn’t be the best
cause actual players>AI, but it would certainly help fill holes.
it will come down to private lobbies eventually. having the option to join pubs would be better than to be left with the discord.

So true! There needs to be a different and equally exciting game play experience for both sides. Starting to limit the players in that way to make the game work would only testify to a broken game design!
