I just wanted to share my thoughts on a little Idea that follows the principles of Participatory Product Design:
How about a “Community Weapon Skin Contest” for the player base?
The developers could share “Blueprints” of certain Weapons, in a file which can be printed out and painted by hand or edited with common graphic design software.
Like this, but obviously in much better quality:
Users are then able to submit their own custom designs for a specific amount of time until submissions are closed and the voting period begins, where everybody is able to vote for the best designs.
The winning designs will then be implemented into the game.
This sort of Contest could be held regularly, by offering it for just one kind of weapon at a time, or on a regular basis for all guns.
This could of course be extended to Player skins, Predators, Masks etc.
What do you think about this?
