Ideas for new vision modes

Thermal’s a bit boring currently, anyone got a few ideas? Don’t know if the game could handle it, but a vision mode or add-on for tracking footprints over long distances could be cool, maybe force players to swap target isolation for it. With an indicator to tell you how recent the footprints are, etc. Footprints dont last too long at the moment. Obviously this would be a lot less useful for tracking people through rivers or compounds, but would easily be able to find people hiding around muddy areas or sprinting through puddles. And would pick up less AI overall since they don’t wander much.

In general, I feel like thermal needs some kind of zoomed “scan mode.” Anything to make it feel like a little more interactive hunting tool. It’s really just there for target isolation and tagging players. Other than that it just muddles audio and its easier to just listen for gunfire or player callouts with it off which doesn’t feel right. Can anyone confirm if the audio bar thing on the left even works? Its almost unnoticeable.

Ofc we’d need longer match times in general. Less of a race to the chopper, more of a hunt.

Sorry, this is not an attempt to derail your thread here, so flag if you must.

Here is the UI affect we were talking about earlier. I could not find/remember the original topic so I stalked you to here instead.

At around 8 seconds in, there is a little yellow semi-circle that appears. The NPC is headed for the alarm, and it seems to track him. Do you know if this goofy little thing does anything else, or is it just perhaps a generic catch all for in game events?

Lol no problem.

I think you’re referring to the spotting gauge. Once it fills up the NPCs start shooting at you. So once its yellow they’re completely aware of you, its just that guy happened to be headed for the alarm instead of opening fire. Not for certain but that’s what it looks like.
