Illfonic considered your balancing suggestions in 2.08! Well done

As all of you know, the fireteams had severe problems in previous patches. Their damage was quite low. But Illfonic listened to all of the threads in their forum:

Assault: Increased assault rifle damage
Scout : Increased damage and higher starting ammo for pistols
Support: Damaged targets are weaker to damage from teammates for a short period of time. This effect does not stack from multiple Leaders
Recon: Increased damage to spotted targets
Dutch (1987): Gains a temporary damage boost after receiving damage
Dutch (2025): Increased assault rifle damage

And: Fireteam members are now able to fire their weapons while in the air after sprinting.

However, don’t forget that the predator got the ultimate weapon in 2.08:
Added a new line to the predator mimic wheel “Want some candy?”

So, Illfonic has read all of your threads very carefully, especially the thread “Let the Games Begin… Apply here!” with close to 1000 posts.

Good job, Illfonic!

To be fair those changes are clash only which is already a FT heavy mode. Thankfully you won’t be seeing that on Hunt.

No the class specialities are game wide

Yeah those are but the weapon buffs he listed aren’t

Oops I read your post wrong. My bad! I agree though. They are some questionable changes

No they are, they’re part of the specialties.
The grenade damage and certain other buffs are clash only

I know. But they did not care for Hunt, improving Predator’s gameplay or PS4, for instance.

Yeah it is a shame. I just hope those specialisations aren’t too powerful. They certainly sound it.

They are

Randoms are having problems with the cloak and predators have serious issues with damage when facing well organized teams. Illfon, OH YEAH, LET’S BUFF DAMAGE!

At this point I seriously don’t know what they are thinking, imagine assault with bane, ar damage and its bulelt damage buff and buffs from other classes like the thing support has. Imagine how much more powerful are premades now when they can align this buffs.

Its seriously baffling to me how the though process go when they implement this changes.

Premades were strong before, now its not even funny anymore.

I play with randoms all the time so it doesnt bother me, I saw ppl who couldnt even aim at the AI’s. But true premades on discord and stuff, GL beating those now.

I did a random game now and I used the the AS with BANE and the new perk for AR damage. A scout predator jumped on me trying to melee with wristblades (yeah, now the best choice), boy did he go down fast and I did not even parry. It was hilarious!

You know it’s bad when even Xan is admitting FT is too powerful haha

I’ve always said coordinated teams where doing to much damage, where I was advocating was in randoms.

That said the changes now and how much damage FT has is absurd. On the other hand its still frustrating trying to shoot the pred in stealth lol.

Haha I gotta try that!

Well again it would seem the balancing is centered around the random pub players which is still the majority I guess, but Pre-Made FT Squads will def be an even bigger challenge now then they were before, so Pred times should go down a bit as the random pub newbie Preds are going to get smeared even harder now as well. In all actuality this can be viewed as a Trial by Fire or Fireteam if you will, as it will divide the preds by those that can adapt and become more vicious to offset the odds they now face and those that will quit pred all together because they cannot. The next few weeks will be interesting for sure.

All it will do is force those who can adapt to use the meta standard to try and survive against premades and force them to play a certain way regardless of how fun that play style is. Honestly I just don’t understand how they could see everyone’s complaints that the FT does too much damage and then proceed to increase it some more.

The game is being balanced towards FT casual randoms who don’t communicate having a chance of winning - doing this of course means that any half competent squad is almost unbeatable unless you’re an extremely good Pred.

I understand from a player numbers viewpoint why they’re doing this, but it is turning the game into a poor man’s CoD where the Pred is nothing more than an occasional distraction who can be eliminated fairly easily if you want to finish the mission quicker.

My only hopeful inference about this new change is that it may be in preparation of the much asked for 3v12 mode? With a team of 3 preds the FT as they were may have been at a bigger disadvantage, 1v4 has always been in their favor mostly but add some Backup to the Pred and also an opposing FT/FTs (whether it’s 2 teams of 6 or 3 of 4) and those passive perks kind of start to make a little more sense especially if the Preds also get new passive options to use in conjunction with each other.
Bottom line its day one 2.08 so its gonna be a little wonky as is tradition, but either way I’ll be out in that Jungle trying my best to bring home some Glory 😁
