Illfonic... does it again (twitter)

Illfonic is like the girlfriend you ask what do they want to eat and they look at you and say “idk”.

Except, they don’t say idk. They just stare at you and look back onto their phone and retweet that they’re hungry.

Here’s the thing now.

Trust, believe me this started yesterday with me. I am concerned about the COMPLETE silence now.

People come on here and demand responses everyday. Every. Single. Fucking. Day. They dropped a small “We’re here, but we don’t talk just cause everyone screams in all CAPS and spam but we’re here.”

I was okay with that. Its also only week 3.

Now, we’re what, week 4 but theres total silence. Like not even a, “Look we have a patch or plan to fox bugs but no time line for you yet”

This not going good if they maintain total silence and I was and sort of still am on the “Calm down” everyone boat, as time goes on, I look at IF, and wanna say “You’re gonna say something soon right?”

Was this a cash grab? Nah. I think they are making poor PR choices though

you already criticize there communication to there community in a lot of topic is it not time to stop repeating and making new topic about this this is more looking like a spam then a complaint

Unfortunately for you, I have been in software development for years. INCLUDING code writing for several video games. I have a very good clue as to how it works. This game should not have been pushed to publishing. After the trial weekend, it should have went back and code corrected and tested again. Not made available. Yes software will have bugs. Nothing is ever bug free. BUT they could have delivered a lot better product to us than they did. It was not complete nor did it contain one of the biggest selling points. Cross platform party invites. This was intended to be part of the core game itself. A selling point feature.

The fact that they, who call themselves developers, allowed this game to progress with the amount of problems it had, shows that they are indeed setting themselves up for failure. When a company drops the ball, they should be chastised for it. Just like when they do good work they should be praised.

I love how people come to these forums to whine and say they’re quitting instead of just going.
It’s like announcing to everyone as if we care.
Don’t let the door hit you.

Wholeheartedly agree.

This game launched with issues, still has issues, etc. I’m unsure why the CM hasn’t posted anything at all. I mean, I worked on a project years ago as a CM and I dove in the “shark tank” to say as much as I could. When it got unbearable, I created a thread addressing information and topics and locked it. Why that isn’t being done here? I have no idea.

Saying something is coming “soon” or “in the coming weeks/month” would suffice IMO. No one needs an exact date and time. That’d be ridiculous.

Haha, that’s not unfortunate at all man! Sorry if that sounded shitty, wasn’t meant to be at all. Nice. I’ve been in game development for 11 years and software for 2! You’re right, it really shouldn’t have been, and honestly that trial weekend should’ve been longer and a lot earlier.

Honestly I think a lot of it has to do with deadlines, etc. There was probably no wiggle room, and here we are. 🤷🏻‍♂️

One thing I will say Is the fact we’re four patches in and we still got the same bugs since launch is kinda sad lol. And no word on the roadmap or free content. The lack of transparency doesn’t bold well either. This game was really half baked damn near bare bones. The fact that aaa and small companies would release a product like this is getting old. At this point they should of delayed the game or hopefully hit it out of the park with these next patches cause when june comes around all eyes are gonna be on the last of us 2 and this game will be left in the dust unless they double down and fix these issue’s already.

No. They need to see that they’re going wrong ways about it.

Really though, spamming the forums with multiple threads ain’t the way. They’re not going to look at you as a creditable source. If anything create a single thread and keep the flow going.

True. I just made two posts about it and i think that’s enough.

Hopefully this post will keep the flown going enough. If not. Oh well.

Best of luck @IF

No worries. I have had to swim in that tank myself on several occasions. It really sucks but the community at large, at least on those projects, seemed to calm down some as there was a constant flow of information.

I maintained a known issues list and made sure that it was updated daily. I also made it a point to put that this list was subject to change.

That’s awesome too. Its a fun and challenging profession. Always evolving.

Oh yeah, for sure. Here I was thinking it was a ton more, haha.

I’m not sure if they have some communication plan in place, but I hope so. Because trying to create a healthy community that’s full of longevity in a multiplayer only title is not going to be done with silence.

Yeah, and they honestly haven’t been addressed in any way, shape, or form. Which sucks. I’ve read interviews where they’ve said they have a lot of plans for future content, but that’s it. I’m hoping we get a roadmap, but who knows at this point.

I agree, it really should’ve been delayed, but with the IP involved the deadline may have been incredibly strict. At least that’s what I assume.

How this game turns out will be rather or not they have a career after this. I mean I would hope they wouldn’t have two duds under their belt cause I doubt They’ll be making another game if this fails too. I get there’s toxicity but that comes with any job you’re in. I don’t like the radio silence it’s not cool even if it’s miniscule details it goes a long way and ease customers. But when you’re on twitch playing matches and bsing it looks bad on them and gives off the wrong impression. We all assume they care and are working hard at fixxing it. But they show otherwise and don’t reflect what some illfonic defenders claim. Maybe there was a deadline but the fact they made a trial version a month before release just made themselves look worse already. And the reviews this game is getting should light a match under their ass and motivate them to fix these issues asap or they’ll be no one left to get to da choppa…!

I’m wondering if the radio silence comes from the huge divide on what needs nerfed and buffed right now. If they say they are gonna do XYZ, it may piss half the community off to the point where they leave. If it’s not that, then they have no excuse to keep radio silent.

This silence is awkward, I’m not sure what is really happening but it is very possible that in the next free content we will have an extra character.
They mentioned it on twitter

He returned and reprised his role for all of the recordings you can find in the game.

There were rumors on the internet that Arnold went into the studio to record for Hunting Grounds. Here’s to hoping Dutch becomes a legit playable character.

Thatd be nuts, and super expensive lol
