@Illfonic, here's an idea to make playing as Preds more interesting

With more variations/extensions on passive benefits based on a Predator’s “personality”.

Currently, Pred classes are split based on minute stat differences, unknown numbers on cloak/thermal time, stamina amount and movement speed, passive melee damage buff and purely cosmetic customisation. This is not enough to make Predator classes distinct from one another.

These Pred personality types should extend (additional) passive bonuses to certain weapons they use i.e. faithful to the movies.

For instance, since the Jungle Hunter only ever used his wristblades, plasma caster and self-destruct (if that counts), maybe provide him with increased damage/attack speed to his wristblades, increased damage on full plasmacaster shots/reduced charge time on plasmacaster shots, increased self-destruct radius?

City Hunter can enjoy added bonuses on his combistick with added bleed/slow effect on combi throws, his disc cannot be destroyed and his netgun has an increased chance to pin targets on the wall/floor?

Elder would of course enjoy additional bonuses to elder sword (even though it’s a perfectly legitimate weapon on its own now) and plasma pistol (somehow relates to preference for hand held firearms as depicted through his flintlock pistol in the movie).

Then of course players who prefer to Build-Your-Own-Pred can still enjoy all the above added bonuses, except with lower percentages of bonus effects.

Basically this concept revolves around rewarding players who use “thematic” weaponry which “fits” or is faithful to the Predator type/personality to encourage more variation and playstyles.

This is of course just a concept/idea and I haven’t factored in potential balancing issues that may come with it, but ideas to chip in on this are always welcome with the hopes that Illfonic notices and considers this!

I am seeing different classes getting different bonuses but where are the nerfs to compensate? Like reduced health, reduced leap, reduced stamina.

Lol why woudl they need that for a passive perk lol. Such a drugged out crybaby

Ok then, give massive passive bonus to Assault rifles for assault class (let’s say). Hope you’re not a crybaby to not agree with this. its only passive.

Dude why do you and do many people automatically want a drawback?

I would agree with you on the ft getting bonuses, but not to damage. Their damage is fine.
This game needs a higher power level for both sides than it currently has, to be fun.

Right now its kinda meh.

Sure. Thats fine. I commented something much like this but they were not class specific more of the pred gets two that are pretty cool but not game breaking op and the ft had one aswell.

The pred ones were : Thrill of the hunt. Which was basically a swing speed and less damage taken if you had the ft players in the field of view. I think 5% per ft and was capped at 15% so it wasnt crazy

Blood Power: ( horrible name i know) this on was movement speed. So for each ft claim was 2.5% or 5% for long claims and this capped at 25% if you got lucky and got more than 4 long claims.

Ft passive i only thought of 1 but it was a great one
Rage: so if you wittiness a claim on a ft player you got a less weapon recoil and a 2.5% more dps and also a 10% chance at landing a critical strike. This was also stackable all the way up to 7 claims being seen. So if you were the last man standing and you saw 7 players get their skulls ripped you now had 17.5% dps increase and also a 70% chance of landing a crit strike to make it worth the while of being the last man standing

I think hes coming at it from like an mmo view point.
Like, this class has this bonus, so it needs this weakness.

Which I fucking HATE. like everything always has to have a drawback. Some handicap. Cause ppl are afraid of power, and things being good.

It makes sense in some cases, but ppl go overboard with that shit.

Yeah My ideas are pretty great one passive has a drawback since its not a permanent boost but one is. And the ft is a perma boost but is highly unlikely to be anywhere near that high in a real game

Read the OP, if you buff certain things that way you need to provide counter balance on the other side or you get OP predators.

The damage buff for Assault was to show the other guy that just because its a passive perk it does not mean its not important.

Personally I want to nerfs or buffs to anything anymore, perhaps give something to PS fireteam but that is it, its really hard for them to compete (not every single one of them, obviously).

Just about every single buff the OP is asking makes playing the low HP classes even HARDER an then people ask why do you see only classes with high HP.

This is not about me coming from a MMO perspective. Its that in this current game, if you give predators all those buffs stated in the OP and you take nothing from them, you get OP predators.

I’m not too sure on the crit strike, but ppl will stop claiming with this passive lol.
Honestly I would like classes to feel the way they do in other games like borderlands or titanfall 2.

I just dont bother writing anything down anymore cause I dont feel illfonic cares.

Like I’ve said, the main things we need, is change the guns to projectile, and fix ALL the issues. (Bugs/glitches)

Then we take it from there.

This is true. Hence why my idea is the better balance since they are soly based on how one is playing not because you pick a class that class weapons should reflect opness

Sure, change the guns to projectile but remove the leaves shields and make guns not lose potency with distance (like predator weapons).

Dude its different technology. I dont see how a an energy blast would lose potency, in the ranges we deal with in game.

And you know, I honestly think projectile might just be be better regardless.

I dont really use trees, so im kind of indifferent about it.
I do get annoyed when I’m trying to snipe and branches block the shot. But at the same time, it would make it too easy to hit preds in trees and too dangerous to use them. It’s pretty easy to see the pred.

As for guns not losing damage per range, I cant really agree with that. For some of the weapons.
Mainly smgs. Smgs should always be close range.

But if the pred is like past 200 meters I dont really think anything but a sniper should hit for full damage.
I dont even really care about bullet drop. Make bullets start dropping after 350 or 400 meters.

If you remove leaf shield you can remove all trees in the game

I mean it’s a difficult one. Cause I understand the frustration of tryna snipe a pred and branched blocking.

But at the same time I feel its needed.
I don’t really use trees so it wouldnt affect me too much.

Do you play as Pred? If not u should try it

Hmmm?

I know what you mean…how many bullets it takes to destroy branches?
