I watched the gameplay you provided and you approached the game poorly. In a lot of ways.
This isn’t a fighting game, or a game where the fireteam is helpless.
If you want to know how to play the Predator, go watch Predator 1, and 2. Only once in either movie does the Predator engage in direct combat with its prey. Otherwise it’s hit and run. When it does directly engage, it’s 1v1, after the majority of the prey has been wiped out.
Going forward I’ll suggest some changes to your playstyle, which should hopefully be more fun for you:
- Engage from a distance with charge, direct plasma caster shots. Finish off the targets from a distance with this method.
- Stay above and around your prey, never at an angle directly to them. Most fireteam members scan tree branches at a roughly 45’ angle from their position, because the directional audio isn’t so accurate as to provide much more than that.
- Stay still, stalk, and observe your targets. You get more points for sustained scans.
- Don’t bumrush. Instead, retreat.
- When a match starts, move to the center and wait in Thermal Vision. Gunshots are visualized as bubbles in this vision mode. Use this to locate mudded up prey.
- Play with subtitles on, so that you can more accurately listen to NPC and fireteam audio queues.
- Use headphones! Over-ear seems to work best.
- Play the Hunter. Berserker is slow and loses out on the balanced skill benefits that the Hunter has.
- Don’t try to wipe out the team in one skirmish. Each fireteam member increases in point value as a match progresses. There’s more honor and EXP in a powerful foe.
- Drop beartraps from above to immobilize targets for your Plasma Caster blasts.
- Drop beartraps near downed prey to draw in their allies!
- Use the Mimic Wheel. The audio is played directly and non-directional to the players. You can use it to cover some amount of noise under specific scenarios.
- Don’t bring the Combi Stick! Your best bet is a net gun with the bow or the Smart Disc. Players are learning to parry too consistently.
- Take out one target, then leave. Don’t overextend.
- Try to have fun. The devs are doing their best to make a piece of art. Don’t be entitled, or rude because you aren’t getting exactly what you want.
If you want a Predator themed brawling game, go play Mortal Kombat’s dlc for the character. This game aims to emulate the movie, and it does so effectively.
