Ok, good example is about a week ago, a guy with yautjas bane and heavy hitter took me to 20% health in 4 hits. 4. I didn’t get SW’d, but the knife is ridiculous. Yes, SW is to be avoided at all costs, but only CW had been able to take out lots of guys by rushing in in the film and those guys were coked-up d-bags. The in-game FTs are sober, well trained killers, aware that preds are out there. Dutchs crew makes their living killing Preds. It makes sense they’d be able to melt a reckless one.
Importance of play style
Against a group of randoms i think is actually mostly balanced, but I feel like making the missions a little longer could actually help a bit. Because I know I’ve made some pretty reckless and stupid decisions simply because I’ve seen where they’re up to in a mission and been like “oh shit, I have to take them out NOW!”.
I can agree to a little bit longer missions since some are extremely short.
extending missions could be a double edge sword.
simply extending timers will just make it even more boring than what it already is for FT
More objectives would be a better option, I think. Or spreading out objectives so you have to run back and forth from different areas of the map
If the FT is good and the pred is good, it could end up in a time out with no kills on either faction which is a tie. That may be a good thing, IMO, though again, people may just get bored and get reckless because “im tired of this shit”
It could also trigger FTs to just focus on hunting down the pred because doing the mission is boring and takes a long time (I think that is what the game is right now anyway)
think adding at least two to three more objectives on the small missions would help a lot. longer ones at least one more objective would make it better for predator
more objectives and more spread. forcing the pred to move instead of camping on a hill and also exposing the FT more instead of spending half the time inside a building

Look I want melee to be viable so I can see melee masters skillfully dance around the ft and take them out using melee only.
Keyword skillfully I dont expect it to be easy but as it is now, it’s not viable at all.
One of the main problems in the balance is that the preds kit is too single target focused.
Pred needs an efficient way to fight multiple targets.
Wether you focus on one at a time or multiple ppl should be up to how you want to fight.
Cause I guarentee theres a bunch of preds who hunt solely using melee weapons.
And I’m not talking about making the pred a tank, I mean more pred able to be way more venerable then it is atm.
Such as rolling and dodging around, movements that make him hard to hit, not just leaping, so he can stay in close range and keep up an assault with melee.
As for me I dont think il be one specific style.
I always like using different things.
But I would love to see ppl focused on different play styles.
I’ve said it before, I’d love to see 4 main viable playstyles-
Range, melee, trapper, summoner.
But with this while belief that you should get shredded if you decide to engage all 4 needs to stop.
I am more than positive there are preds who hunt extremely aggressively.
Melee needs to become visible so there can be variety to preds.
So far everyone plays the same pretty much and its honestly pretty fucking boring.
People keep blindly accepting how shitty the state of balance is and it’s never going to get better that way.
On the flip side,
Ft needs a massive rework as well do they can stop being so mind numbingly boring.
You’re new do you havent seen me say it I think, but if we meant actual balance we need to either fully simulate the movies, or make both sides stronger.
More powerful sides would allow for more options making things funner on both sides.
I’m just tired of people thinking and saying one faction HAS to play a certain way. Makes no sense.
Ya the knife is ridiculous but I enjoy having a claw v knife duel.
The damage could be toned down though.
Doesn’t really have to be more objectives.
The missions just need to have better enemies and more cool shit happening.
It’s too easy right now.
The possibility to fail the mission needs to be a thing as well.
Smarter cooler enemies, deadlier as well.
Objectives that are more complex and can be failed.
Shit like that for starters.
But a.i. needs a huge improvement for that to work.
All those are viable and you can still do hit and run tactics with any of those and easily win. Have you seen any of @TheSenate and @KayneLucard can do in their vids? It may not be as fancy as you like, but I have seen them wipe fireteams using melee, using range, using traps, etc. Honestly, my opinion is the same. weapons are still viable as they are now. Only one fairly weak is the wrist blades. Rest of the weapons are fairly balanced. They can take out people easily in a combo or a combo and a swing or two on tankier individuals. Some have effects for hitting them with it. If, you want to be tankier, play a bigger pred and add large pounch, long jump, adrenal boost. But, be about the only way you are gonna jump into a 4 man premade and maybe live.
They also dumbed down the A.I.s for the players since they didn’t want it to be so hard to deal with swarms of op A.I.'s killing you while you had a real player hunting you. So, they are literally space fillers.

You realize im not talking entirely about the damage the weapons do, but more on easily you end up dying if you do melee focus?

Second, except for scout, everything cost too much stamina for pred.
We shouldnt have to use adrenal boost just to not run out of stamina after a few moves.
I hate how people keep focusing on individual Player skill to try to balance and not just the numbers and characters Themselves.
But if you dont believe me,
Try going melee vs a good team.
You’re going to get fucked simple as that.
And another tip. wait till they start a objective that will cause a waiting period and attack. They will be a lot more focused on dealing with the A.I.'s so they don’t build up. If you keep them busy. A.I.'s build up it makes it a pain in the ass for them and easier for you to kill them
I think melee is in a good place aside from tracking and hit registration. If that is fixed, then you will see a sudden improvement in melee quality. I cannot tell you how many times I have hit someone (namely with the Battle Axe), and it goes through their body, but deals no damage and the hit does not register. If that is improved, melee should actually be in a good place. If Pred does not get specializations (or if broken FT combos are not nerfed), then melee (and pred in general) should get a slight buff because of how broken crap is at the moment for FT (think Assault+Bane+Deadly, Support+Field Medic+Dextrous, etc).

You dont balance off of individual results or a group of ppl.
I have, and few games I have lost. But, I have mopped the floor with some pretty good premades using my female zerk, combistick, smart disc, adrenal boost, long jump, and energy reserve/large pouch. Its really not that hard. Its about timing when you go in and how you do it. The other thing you can still rush in and kill whole teams if you know what you are doing. So, weapons are fine. Timing and what you do makes a big difference.
