Interact - FT - PC

Guys,

Since yesterday night I’ve been having very serious problems with the Interact button.
I’m playing on the PC and use the default F as interact. Tried remapping to another key, remap to F again and the problem still persists.

In game when I try to mud up, pick up ammo or health packs, revive a team mate, interact with objective items or deactivate alarms the animation starts and the icon pops-up. Yet, before it fills to 1/6th the icon disappears and the animation stops, as if I had stopped pressing the F button, which I didn’t. Happens 100% of the times.
The only interaction I can always complete successfully is picking up veritanium.

Patch 1.09 installed.
Game has been restarted to no avail.
PC has been restarted to no avail.

Running on Windows 10 Pro 64bits, version 1909 / build 18363.836, if that somehow helps.
HW is:
CPU - AMD FX-8350
RAM - 16Gb
MB - ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. M5A97 EVO R2.0
GPU - 2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 290

Hehe. This is nothing new. Especially when it comes to applying mud. It just stops loading the interact icon half way through.

Looks like they buffed every lingering bug with this shit patch. I am now running into frequent mission chain bugs too. i.e., the mission icon and timer will completely disappear without even interacting with a Predator.

We paid $40-60 to QA test this glorified tech demo for them.

I know. It happened to me a few times before. But now it happens 100% of the times.
Besides, it happened mostly when applying mud. Now it happens with every interaction but grabbing veritanium.

More so, I noticed that if I crouch my screen keeps flickering as if I’m crouching/standing all the time in a fast succession and I’m also having trouble with the radial weapon selection thingy. All of the issues start happening at the same time.

yup its a bug… remapping it to E helped me alot but the problem is still there. this problem is the biggest issue regarding to mudding up and trying to activate the console to deactivate the predators bomb for me. cant tell you how many times this has screwed me over with the bomb or the predator get the jump on me cause i been trying to muddy up for the 8th attempt.

Or when you’re the sole survivor and can’t call in reinforcements. Or you can’t revive your team mates. Or you can’t do the objective. And that is happening 100% of the times I try.

It looks like I’ll have to wait on the next update and see if it solves the problem for me. It’s impossible to play it as is.

is your game installed on an SSD?

Nope. And I’ve been able to play it without much hassle up to 2 nights ago.

well if it helps, i also had this on my HDD and then due to poor texture loading… and interaction freezing i installed it on my SSD instead which has helped. if you got an SSD.

i’m not sure what settings you have on but i also turned off blur and distance down to the lowest which also helped. this game is full of shit, worse then tuning up a car.

I do, but that one is for OS and other software only.
Besides, that’s a poor reason for it to work. Up to 1.09 it worked well enough in the same location.

im only giving you feedback from my experience… besides the game isnt even 20gigs… maybe there is space.

I know, I know. :) And I thank you for that.
But I want an actual solution. Moving it to the SSD isn’t an option right now.

i still think the game is 1 year away from being fully complete. it still feels very early access… question is will the games lifespan last long enough to see its full completeness.

but best of luck to you, heres hoping the next patch fixes many issues.

I hope that it stays up for a while. I’m having fun with it and if they add a few more maps, which I think is what’s lacking the most, this will be amazing.

Regarding the issue, I found a way to circumvent it. When interacting and before the action is botched, I have to press and hold Spot at the same time. That way I can always interact, although at the end of the interaction I’ll have a false spot for the team to see. :(

The issue has been there since launch. Safe to say it actually got a little better, but it isn’t fixed. This “bug” could soft-crash Predators while eating pigs as well if the pigs were sliding away from you (on a hill).

I have this issue still:

  • While claiming skulls
  • Mudding up
  • Healing/Ammo up
  • Picking up Money
  • Doing objectives
  • Reviving

It’s completely random and it can/will mess up a game or two. I’ve sadly absolutely wrecked Predators with my LMG trying to get a claim, but they can’t. If it takes 2 seconds to claim a body while you tried to hop in and out quickly…?

Then it’s called game breaking if you actually lose the match as well (or win, in my case).

I saw this every once in a while in the past. It happens. No biggy. Just re-atempt the process. Thing is In the last days it got way worse for me. I just couldn’t use anything. Having no ammo and having to expose myself to whatever ammo was dropped by AI was bad. Low on life and not being able to heal even though there were lots of healing spots? Bad. Giving away the team because I couldn’t mud up? Bad. Not being able to do objectives, call in reinforcements or revive team mates? Bad.
Once in a while, I’d let it slide. Every single time, every game? It becomes quite painful and very unfun.
But found the solution until they solve it out.
