I decided to put this in bug reports because I believe I’ve finally discovered that it is basically a bug.
After realizing I can solo queue into private matches (because I’m a dummy that didnt attempt to do so before. XD) I’ve realized that the OWLF recordings work significantly better than getting them from a public match.
For example, in a public match, you can in fact pick these up and survive with it and manage to survive with it to take it back. However, I’ve noticed that in private match, if you escape with one, it will show in the rewards inventory that you were rewarded an OWLF recording. In addition to that, it will also give you a notification in the main menu on extras that you have obtained one. It doesnt do that at all, however, for public match OWLF recordings.
Also, in public match there are times where even surviving with one wont get you a new one, however in private match I’ve never once had it happen and I almost have all of them now.
My guess is that the system for OWLF recordings was optimized in private matches but not for public matches. So I’d file this under optimization fixes as well, for those that like to collect them.
