Intermediate goals&timers for the Fireteam

Recently I’ve read some topics where people say that Fireteam sometimes just don’t even try to complete their missions. As one of these FT players said: “We’re lvl 100 and don’t need any more exp, doing missions is boring, so we just start hunting on predators”. And I think it’s absolutely not right.

Let me explain. Missions are a part of the core mechanics of this game. And balance for games where FT tries to complete missions and has fights against AI and games where FT just plays hide&seek with Predators must be totally different. If you don’t do missions, nothing distracts you, you can produce no noise at all, so for the Predator it becomes much more harder to find your location and to attack you. In this case Predators still play accorting to the rules (find and try to kill the FT) while the FT plays against them.

So, the idea is to add intermediate goals&timers for the Fireteam. Not 15 mins for all the tasks as it’s right now, but something like you still have 15 mins for all of your missions, but you have to complete the first part of it in 5 mins. If you don’t… there are some options:

  1. mission failed, win for Predator and lose for FT
  2. Predator can decide if he wants to play more or not; if not he just press the button, game ends and Predator get extra exp/veritanium for victory
  3. Debuff for FT. -20% of maximum HP for all of FT members. If they will be able to complete the first and second part of the mission in the next 5 minutes, debuff will be disabled. If not - they get another debuff for -30% that stacks with the previous one.

In conclusion I want to mention it again. IF the FT doesn’t do missions, it breaks the game for the Predator. On the other hand, the Predator has no possibilities to break the game for the FT. Like Predators can’t kill the key NPC on the map or destroy the key objects making it impossible for the FT to complete their mission.
