Is Predator Hunting Grounds worth coming back to?

A couple of months ago I got tired of the state of this game and the lack of much needed fixes this game needed. I was a very active member of this community, but I said my goodbye’s and started playing other titles. Every patch seemed to break as many things as it fixed leaving the live product in a state of mediocrity. Besides the fact that many things gameplay related are not up to standards, many matches you will lose because there are clear area’s IN this game that can be outright abused.

So I’m asking you guy’s, the ones that still read the forum. Is this game worth coming back to? How is the state of this product compared to 3 months ago. I don’t care much for new skins, I don’t care much for paid DLC. I care about the actual game. Has it been improved, what is still plaguing it?

Wait till the patch drops this month. Its getting better but there are frequent crashes on console and optimization is still horrendous.

I hope you understand that “waiting for the next patch”, is the biggest trap this game has promised. Every “next patch” was a disappointment. It’s not what I’m asking.

How is the game NOW < ?

The game has come along way since launch, that isnt a trap, its live service I dont know what you expected, im surprised its as playable as it is. Game balance wise is fine bane got buffed fireteam got new toys thats about it oh and some perk changes, but dont let that discourage you its a fine time to jump in imo.

I’d say, read the latest 2.0 patch notes, dive into a match, and then…yeah, you’ll see.

Bluescreen crashes on PS4
FT melee being OP
Pred melee nerfed into oblivion
Combistick damage nerf
Bow headshot damage nerf
PDW on Assault Class + Bane is a Predators worst nightmare.
Framerate drops when lots of activity going on.
FT have anti-cloaking grenades, self revive syrettes (be careful when claiming, one of them will suddenly jump up and melt you), and a UAV Scanner that will detect you even when cloaked…

I keep forgetting the shadow nerfs, though anti cloak is next to useless to me, cause cloak is useless lol.

Those are the shadow nerfs we’ve noticed so far, Lord only knows what other stealth changes they’ve made.

Indeed, we need some love given back to the Predator. After all, it’s his game and without him I doubt anybody would be tolerating the madness we have over the past few months.

I wouldn’t play it if there was no Predator straight up, only reason Im supporting it cause I know illfonic is passionate about the game, Im staying till its sunk which hopefully it doesnt.

Yeah, I’ll be here until there are no servers running or the wait times are an hour due to low playerbase. But I won’t be giving them any more money without the current bullshit being fixed first.

Ive given in alot with dlc and I will if its a pred dlc if not nope.

It would have to be an awesome Predator like Wolf, Mr.Black, Scar or Falconer WITH an impressive new weapon/kit and stats, not some generic Hunter+stat tweaks. Even then, I’ll wait until I’ve seen enough evidence in feedback that it’s worth the money because City Hunter was a huge disappointment, especially considering it was broken for ages with the ADS bug.

Hopefully Mr.Black will be step in the right direction, im pretty sure a rapid fire plasma caster wont be too hard to balance.

If anything, he’d have to be more like an Elder with Zerker level health, twin shoulder cannons and a unique Hand Held that does shoulder caster damage 😈

We will have to wait and see I guess.

This 2 things are false, only people who expect to only melee to victory have this issues. Melee, in my view has always been intended as something you find an opening, jump in and kill a FT that is already hurt, not rush in hopping to tank bullets as you try to melee someone to death from full. Even before the last patch if you where up against a coordinated team and you tried to do that… You would be screwed, it only worked to farm casuals on PS(especially).
