Is slaverish jobs evident in Gaming Corps!

I fear the worse is yet to come. Slavery in IT. Slavery in Engineering. A thesis of business outcomes comes to fruitation. Poorly made games with good artistic direction or cloned engines with similar artistic scopes. Meaning a complete reiteration of content with different narratives but equatable gameplays and passable artistic scope.

Lets explain, Horizon FW…made with exactly the same engine as HZD. Was audited for its core financing and pretty much was the same game with new visuals. Not bad but ultimately they were slimming their expenses as their narratives were exactly the same. Cinematic budget exactly the same. So they probably saved on resources by allocating their team to much more longer work days or concentrated work efforts.

Look at Collistal Protocal. The engine was completely narrowed down to its core mechanics. Nothing more. Repeating its own thing, indulging on cinematics. Not bad. Cost savings were huge I bet. I bet they were trying to develop this in budget and timely manner as a motion picture does in it’s union managed employs. Job Done.

In comparison ,RDR2 took x amount of years to develop and an incredible amount of budget. They are still realling in that dept. Thank Rockstar.

In comparison Cyberpunk took an incredible amount of time and money that CDprojectRed are still realing in the debt of The Witcher…maybe they did get it right with Cyberpunk…maybe not.
But I’m guessing the Witcher dragged them down into a close to bankruptcy situation.

Now lets go to COD. Fucking assembly line I bet of production schedules. Not bad. I admire their effort. No longer are they exploring game dev as an artform, but as a streamlined job and industry. Slavery? You BET!

When it becomes slavery, you’ll have investors. You’ll have stocks. You might have a future but you get the Tim Hortons salary if you ever believed there was one.
You’re now selling coffee to children while your pipeline is restricted to a prefab production pipeline where little effort is used to create, rather it is used to select assets.

Does this bleak future dissatisfy you? or nurture you?
Disscuss~!

Oh and before i forget, heres my trade mark!
